E3 just flew this
year. The 3 days hardly seemed like enough time to see and play
everything, but I of course swept the entire place thoroughly in
search of Kirby stuff.
Of
course there was Kirby Canvas Curse to play. I counted two units
to play it, one with a seat and a stand-up one. I must admit up
front that I am really stupid at this game, but I found it
incredibly fun and it seems easy to pick up and get used to. I
didn't really need to take a lot of screenshots or movies of the
game, as quite a few exist on the net already. Not to mention
Ivyna J Spyder has already beaten the game and knows the ins and
outs so well, I had no reason to really try and pick it apart --
unlike last year's frenzy over the name translations.
As
for Kirby's Adventure GCN, there wasn't much mention of it
except for the random trailer they would play on the big screen
in the Nintendo area (I think I only caught it once. You can
find that trailer here.)
They also did a general trailer showing a ton of miscellaneous
games, with extremely short clips (we're taking a couple frames
blink-or-you'll-miss-it scenes) from the Kirby's Adventure GCN
game.
Besides
the games, there was a display just outside of West Hall called
Into the Pixel. It was an exhibit of art inspired from
videogames. When I registered on Tuesday, I saw them setting up
the room and I noticed the Kirby art, but I had to wait until
the final day to see it. While I've got some pictures and such
below, you can view it and more at US
Today's page.

E3 in General
There
are many websites that are more indepth and detailed than I, so
I won't bore you with everything I did. I only managed to make
it Wednesday and Friday. I missed Thursday thanks to a flat tire
that ended up being a real time consumer.
I
did, however, upload a bunch of pictures for you to look at. If
I had to describe E3, it is very loud, exciting, and you
wouldn't believe how many people smell sooo bad due to it being
so hot in there. Or maybe they just smell bad in general I don't
know.
I
played quite a lot of games, but I think my favorites had to be
Nintendo's Kirby Canvas Curse (didn't see that one coming I
bet), Pokemon Gale of Darkness (gasp! I've never
ever actually gotten into Pokemon, so maybe that is saying
something), and Genji the Samurai in the PlayStation area.
I
also learned that video gamers aren't just completive against
each other in games, but also in the show down of getting free
stuff. Nintendo had this little corner where if you waited in
line to play Pokemon Gale of Darkness, on your way around to
exit the area they would give you a free plushie. The choices
were either both a Plusle or Minun plushie, or just one Pikachu
plushie. So I went through twice to get them all, and each time
I got pushed, toes stepped on, and knocked into as people tried
to push ahead.
In
the Nintendo area, they also had a 4Kids area, but alas no
Kirby. It was filled with Mario stuff (you can see pics below)
that was awesome. Towards the end of the final day, they opened
it up and started throwing out things from it. Chaos ensued as
girls screamed for Link momentos and guys actually fought over a
hat that several caught at once. Even if one person caught it
fair, hands were up fighting and trying to pry it from the poor
winner's hands. I got shoved there several times, it brought
back bad memories of OzzFest. So so funny.
Oh,
and I must apologize to Bud for not meeting up with him, I also
blew off two other people (not intentionally!) that I was
supposed to meet. One was even my RL friend who I couldn't get a
hold of since I ended up going without a cell phone this time
around. Kinda hard to call everyone I was supposed to meet up
with as I'm already on my way there. Sorry guys!
I
must stop rambling because I have had like 3 hours sleep today,
so
without further ado, here are the pics I've chosen to share (aka
didn't come out looking warped or blocked with people's heads
getting in my way hehe):
