"Gross! Why would you need a person's hand to cast a spell?",Adeleine said. "That's what it says in the book",Kirby pointed out. Adeleine stuck out her tongue in disgust. "What else does it say?",King Dedede asked. "Well, it says something about witches here",Kirby flipped through a few pages. "Guys, I got a bad feeling about this",Ribbon said. "What's so bad about it? All we're doing is reading",Waddle Dee said. "It just seems too dangerous, maybe we should put the book away",Ribbon replied. "Maybe you're right, it does seem dangerous",Kirby closed the book. Waddle Dee shrugged.

"Excuse me, but have you seen a really old book?",Kigai asked. "What's the called,sweetheart?",a man asked. Kigai hated being called "sweetheart",but she had to put up with it if she wanted to find the book. "It's called Kurayami",Kigai said. "Nope, I seen it",the man walked away. Kigai sighed,"I'm never going to find that stupid book",Kigai ran down the street, only to bump into someone. "Hey!",Kigai yelped. The kid fell backwards. "Owwww...why do these things happen to me?",the kid moaned. "Sorry, what's your name?',Kigai asked. "I'm Kelly Carowitz,who are you?",the kid asked. "My name's Kigai,have you seen a book called 'Kurayami?'",Kigai asked. "Yeah, I saw it in a book store, a Waddle Dee bought it",Kelly said. Kigai grabbed Kelly's shirt collar. "Where did he go?!",she shrieked. "Owww!! Take it easy! I'll show you the way",Kelly yelped. She set him back on the ground. "Geez,I didn't know that book meant so much to you",Kelly said. "You have no idea",Kigai grumbled.

Kirby heard a knock at the door. "I wonder who that is",Kirby opened the door and saw a young boy and girl. "Hello? What can I do for you?",Kirby asked. "Do you have the book 'Kurayami'".Kigai asked. "Yeah, we have it,why?',Kirby asked. "That book belongs to me, it was given to me by someone",Kigai was having a hard time making up a good excuse to get her book back. Kirby and his friends exchanged confused glances. "Can I please have it back?",Kigai begged. "But we bought it...",Waddle Dee started. "Why should we give it back? Waddle Dee bought this book with his own money",King Dedede said. "You don't understand! That book belonged to someone very dangerous! I need it back so innocent people won't get hurt!',Kigai blurted. She covered her mouth with her hand. What was she supposed to tell them now? "Who's dangerous?',Kelly asked. Kigai sighed,"The Kijo Sisters",she said. "What?!",Everyone expect Kigai yelled. "B-but the Kijo Sisters are only legends",Adeleine said. "Don't believe me? Look on the very first page",Kigai said. Waddle Dee flipped to the first page. "This book is property of the Kijo Sisters",Waddle Dee read. "Whoa",King Dedede said. "Who are you? Why do you want this book?",Kirby asked. "I am Kigai,the guardian of the Kijo Shrine, I was guarding the book until someone took it and I need it back before Allhallows Eve",Kigai said. "What'll happen if the book isn't back by Halloween?",Waddle Dee asked. Kigai looked at him weird, wondering why he called it "Halloween",she then answered his question. "Every year on Allhallows Eve, the creatures that haunt the night try to revive the witches, but they need the book to revive them and the shrine's power has protected the book from those evil creatures. If the book was removed from the shrine, the evil creatures are allowed to do whatever they want with the book, I need it back before it's too late",Kigai explained. Kirby looked a little uncertain about giving the book back, but he gave it to Kigai anyway. "Can the witches only be revived on Halloween night?",Adeleine asked. "Yes, but the evil creatures can still try to take the book, I need to go before it's too late",Kigai said. Before she headed toward the shrine, a bat flew in and bit her wrist. "Arrghh!",Kigai dropped the book and swatted at the bat angrily. "Stay away!",she screamed. A black cat jumped through an opened window. It snatched the book while Kigai was distracted. "Get that cat!",Kelly said. Kirby leaped at the cat but it quickly jumped out the window. Kigai finally got rid of the bat. She looked at the window. "Oh-no...",she said. "We have to get it back before Halloween!",King Dedede said. "We don't have much time!",Kirby said,"Halloween's only a day away!".
