Being a warrior is hard… You need to
choose your enemies and friends carefully. My best friend,
as well as traveling partner, Amanda, knows very well of what
it’s like. In fact, here’s my tale of our first
adventure. I will tell you now.
“Eat sword, you vermin!” Amanda
the brown and white hamster yelled dashing towards the mysterious
weasel with her sword. I just laid there… no idea of
what was happening; I had been stabbed with the creature’s
spear. The next thing I knew, I was back against a tree with
Amanda looking over me holding a leaf with some herbal medicine
on it on my chest. “There… you should be fine”
Amanda said to me taking the leaf off and replacing it with
a bigger leaf on it to serve as a band-aid. I have always
appreciated Amanda’s kindness. Sometime, I must repay
her. “Thanks, Amanda. I wouldn’t have survived
without you” I said looking at her straight in the eyes.
“Oh, it was nothing, I wouldn’t have just left
you there to die” Amanda said chuckling.
The next morning was a bright one. Amanda
and I were staying in an old empty cave for shelter on our
adventure. Amanda was fast asleep so I thought this would
be the perfect time for me to repay her… Well, in a
way… With a jumbo breakfast! I looked around for some
things I would need… because making a breakfast with
things in the forest would not be that easy! I saw an empty
nest in the nearest tree with some eggs. I checked them to
make sure there were no baby birds inside and I started a
fire. I started to bake the eggs and I found some edible wild
potatoes that I cut up into hash browns. “Yawn…
Good morning Nicole… Nicole?” Amanda got up and
looked outside of the cave. “Nicole what are you doi-?”
I turned around holding her breakfast. It was on a big leaf
to serve as a plate. “This is for… saving my life,
Amanda” I said holding it up to her. “Wow…
This is incredible… Thanks, Nicole!” I was startled
to receive a hug from my friend. So I hugged back. “Mmm…
It’s delicious!” Amanda said, happily.
We grabbed our swords, and started to head
off continuing on our adventure. “Augh… My sword
needs to be sharpened…” I said staring at my sword.
Amanda quickly grabbed my sword and ran with it to a rock
and sled it against it. “There… As good as…
sharpened!” Amanda said handing me the sword. I chuckled,
patting Amanda on the back. “Did… you hear that?”
I asked. “Amanda?” I turned around and Amanda
was gone! I looked above me and saw a giant dragon-like creature,
with Amanda tight in it’s grasp. “Amanda!”
I gasped. The monster roared then tried to step on me, luckily,
my cat reflexes came in handy. I pulled out my sword and stabbed
the monster in it’s foot, because that was the only
thing I could reach. A leaf landed on my paw… Then that
gave me an idea. I ran up a VERY tall tree until I was up
to the monster’s chest. Then I stabbed it right where
it’s heart was. The monster turned pale then loosened
it grip, making Amanda fall. I quickly ran down the tree and
was able to make a soft landing for Amanda… me. “Heh..
Sorry…” Amanda said with a slight smirk on her
face. I sighed with a small chuckle and got back up. The day
was almost over so it was time for us to find some shelter
for the night. There was an old tree with a big hole in it
so we decided to go there for the night. We said goodnight
to each other and went to sleep.
The next morning was a dreary one and I awoke to see Amanda
getting sick… Luckily she was outside because I easily
get sick from seeing other people’s sickness. I got
some herbs and mixed them together for Amanda and gave them
to her. They were supposed to cure the flu. “Take three
a day, Amanda” I told her. “One at breakfast,
one at lunch and one at dinner” She gave me a disappointed
expression as I walked off to gather more herbs.
I returned back around the time when we would
usually have dinner. I smiled as I saw Amanda taking her herbs
with some water. I told her that I had something to show her.
She followed me into the dark area of the woods and there
was a strange claw-like item lying on the forest floor. “Isn’t
it strange, Amanda? It looks like some sort of a claw…”
I asked. Amanda nodded at the same time as coughing. I patted
her on the back with a frown on my face and I told her we
should get back to shelter because in the rain her flu would
only get worse.
I awoke with a pain in my back the next morning. I looked,
and there was the claw, jabbed in my back! I tried pulling
it out, but the pain just got worse. Amanda woke up with a
startle: seeing me with blood streaming out of my back. “Nicole!”
Amanda had gotten over the flu, so I was happy… besides
my bloody back. “Is there anything to help me get this
thing out?” I asked with a huff. Amanda sighed with
a frown and simply said “No…” I wondered
how the heck it got in my back… and how I’ll get
it out. “Wait…” Amanda said flipping through
one of her old books. “It says here that if you get
a claw with a vine symbol on it it’s from a…”
Amanda was having trouble pronouncing the name. “A…
Kledioshang. If the claw is left in the victim for too long
the claw will break open and cause the victim to be…”
She paused. What could she be thinking about? “…ripped
to pieces…” I gasped and my fur fluffed up. Amanda
put a paw on my shoulder and said that she would do the best
she could to find a cure.
2 days passed… and still, no cure. I
was starting to panic more than ever. “Finally!”
Amanda shouted with glee. “I found the cure! But it
will be hard to find. It says here you need to drink from
a dragon’s fang.” I glanced at the distance. There
was no way I was going to be able to find a dragon and rip
out a fang. No way, it’s just impossible. Amanda looked
at me. “Remember that dragon you saved me from about
4 days ago?” Amanda asked me. I nodded. “Well,
let’s go back and look to see if one of it’s fangs
fell out when you stabbed it!” Amanda said with a large
grin on her face. I smiled and said “Yeah!!”
3 days passed, walking constantly. No excitement,
no battles, no nothing. Then suddenly a black and white fox
hopped out from behind an old pine tree. He had the most awful
looking scar on his right eye and he has a rip in his left
ear. Amanda gasped. “R-Rexoris!” Amanda said with
fear. “W-what are you doing here?” An evil smile
appeared on Rex’s sly, heartless face. “Why, Amanda.
I came here for only one little teeny reason” Rex said,
picking at his fangs. “What… what is that?”
Amanda asked. I was truly confused out of my mind. “Why,
to KILL you Amanda!!!” Rex cried, jumping up above Amanda.
I quickly shoved Amanda out of the way. Rexoris looked at
me… He had the face of hell. The face that only Satin
would love… Suddenly Rex jolted at me with his claws
out ready to strike. “OWCH!!!” Rex cried. He stepped
on something… I wonder what. He pulled out… the
dragon fang out of his foot! I was so happy and was also mindless
at the same time, that I jumped and grabbed the dragon fang,
right beside Rex. He smiled at me and stepped on my back.
It really hurt, but I knew while he was doing that that I
should drink from the fang. I took a big gulp and after a
couple seconds the claw… just fell out! I had absolutely
no way of reaching my sword since it was far off on the ground.
So I took the claw and jammed it into Rex’s leg. He
yelped in pain then tried to pull it out. But it was in there
good. “You… You… You’re a demon from
hell!” Rex called out to me furiously. He snatched the
dragon fang and started to drink from it. “Ahh…
Much better.” Rex sighed, the fang falling out. Amanda
huffed. I guess she thought this was going to be a peaceful
walk. “Now, Amanda, I’ll get back to dealing with
you!” Rex said, laughing. Amanda and I picked up our
swords ready to fight. Rex showed his claws, but suddenly
a bird flew over him. Rex paused. Then soon, a whole flock
of different species of birds were hovering over him. Rex
yelped in terror. “I’ll… I’ll get
you next time, you little goodie two shoes!” Rex cried
out as he was running with the birds hovering over him pooping.
Amanda and I had a good laugh and continued back to our shelter.
“Well, it’s been an exciting week, huh, Nicole?”
Amanda asked me. I could tell she was exhausted. “It
sure has been, Amanda, it sure has…”
