Round Knights Nominations

Some entries were acknowledged by fans as being more deserving than others. Actual visitors were asked to go and air what they thought was the best entry. Why should I be the one who has to make the hard decisions? I mean, I still am, in the end, but you folks should be stressed out, too.

So, I've gone ahead and sorted through the nominations that were sent in and picked out the choice ones. You know, they didn't just say, "He looks cool and should win." You'd be surprised how often that one came up. One's that had actual analysis of why victory was deserved and not just one sentance appear below. Most have sound reasoning. Others seemed a little off about what was being looked for, but that's why it's their opinion. There is no right or wrong if it's explained.

The Accepted Nominations

Parasol Knight

- From Plasma Friend, April 12th

Parasol Knight, in my opinion, perfectly suits up a Dream Land knight. He has a basic weapon (the parasol. For being so common in Dreamland, it makes sense that a knight would adapt in using one), not too complicated in attacks (and he even hurts himself, like some creatures, for the defeat of his enemies). His armor is also very simple, as is most of Dreamland.

Whip Knight (2)

- From A Waddle Doo With a Hat, April 12th

Out of all the available entries, KrackoCloud's Whip Knight stands out as the one that could most easily be made into an in-game knight. Its weapon and attacks are original, while still sticking to the basis set by the games. Its design, while unique, isn't over-complicated, making it look like it would fit in with the pre-established group of knights. It's not flashy, it's not over-the-top, it's just basic and down-to-earth, as a knight should be.

Grappling Hook Knight

- From KrackoCloud, April 12th

First of all, I strongly believe that a good knight has a weapon with some sort of sharp part, so although I really, really like my creations, they just don't have the weapons for it.

Second of all, and more importantly, each knight has a sort of "niche" in battle. I'd say Grappling Hook Knight does that fine by pulling in enemies, a trap of sorts that forces the player into certain spots (unfortunately, he tosses Kirby back).

In all, most creations are imbalanced. Their appearance/weapon can certainly be believable, but the way they act just doesn't cut it for the army. Grappling Hook Knight isn't exempt from this, either, but I'd say it's really well-rounded.

Whip Knight (2)

- From Plasma Friend, April 13th

I like Krackocloud's Whip Knight because he has a unique weapon (well, to Popstar anyway), and his apperence, though simple, is based off a something (the pharoh's hat.) Also, he doesn't try to make the weapon more powerful than it is, like he could have made it similar to a lasso, and strangled Kirby with the whip when he came near, but then he'd be Lasso Knight, not whip (hmm, maybe that could have been a good entry, but I'm getting off track).

Glide Knight

- From Plasma Friend, April 13th

Glide Knight is a good knight for a few reasons. Glide Knight has plain armor (though the goggles may stick out), and a trusty weapon, his hang glider (OK, his helmet is what causes damage, but mostly from the help of the hang glider). He also has some history around him, like he's based around a suicide bomber (which is why the higher ranked ones can also drop bombs), though for people who don't care about history junk, he could be a unique and enjoyable member of the Red Knights.

Lance Knight

- From Kirazy, April 13th

Lance Knight just seemed right. Nothing too extravagant, nothing to special. He, if colored purple, would blend in perfectly with the other Meta Knights, and would pose as a unique design in the bunch with a new attack to add confusion.

I wonder if I'm the only one who didn't pick my own Knight...

Wood Knight

- From Kirbyzilla, April 14th

Wood Knight was very detailed and well thought out, or that's how it appears. I loved the listening idea, it was very original. The growing staff was good, and so was the ability to sense incoming enemies and projectiles. Although it would also make a good miniboss, it would make a great addition to the knights as well. That's about all I have to say, so that's it.

Whip Knight (1)

- From RedMetaKnightess, April 19th

I chose Whip Knight because I could see it fitting in very well with the Meta Knights. It is defenately the most original of the knights.

Wood Knight

- From KirbyShadowSpirit, April 20th

This knight was one of the few knights that would fit in with Meta Knights classic beliefs whilst still maintaining individuality. This knight also fit in by using the basic ranged and physical styles used by all the current knights and still puts a new spin on it.
