Masked Puffball Guidelines

Both Meta and Galacta have features that make them unique from one another but also similar enough to start a trend. Entries should conform to those similarities while making sure to avoid that which has already been done.

Masked Rules

Just so it's out first and foremost, here's the run down of the important things. The details and the why follow after the summary.

  • Wear a solid face mask.
  • Have an opening or eye holes that they can see from.
  • Don't have a simple slit or cross shaped opening.
  • Have a decoration in the upper corners of the face plate.
  • Don't make it horns or a pair of little lines.
  • Be round in shape.
  • Don't color the body navy, fuschia, or pink.
  • Have something on the back.
  • Don't make this bat wings or angel wings.
  • Give them a weapon to wield.
  • Don't make this a sword or lance.
  • These are not Star Warriors.

The defining thing of a masked puffball would have to be the mask. Each so far wears a white saucer with an opening to show their eyes. A simple slit and cross shape have been taken, so come up with something else. Also, each has a further decoration on the upper corners. One has horns, the other has two little ticks. Something should be there. If I don't say to put something there, then no one will, and that will be boring. Additionally, I'm aware that variations will run thin if every mask has to be circular dish, so some liberties will be allowed on that part.

The second word in this equation is important, too. These should be balls, as in based on a spherical shape. No bowling pins, ovals, eggs, etc. or other shapes seen in the animated series. While on that topic, this are not "Star Warriors". These are only based on what's been in the games, which is only two guys that happen to have knight in their name (who aren't <insert weapon> Knight). Further seguing, the name only has to contain "Knight" and not "-ta". Galacta's real name is Galactic Knight. Only slanty-eyebrow adding Americanization turned him into a -ta bearer.

Both, also, bear wings on their back. One is membraneous (bat wings, skin stretched between bones/fingers) and the other is feathered. While they don't have to be wings (mostly since there's not many kinds left to choose from. Butterfly and dragonfly?), there should be something back there. Both warriors used weapons as should yours. Anything that isn't a sword or a lance is fair game. Shields, as long as they don't look like the existing one, are fair game as well. Outside of that, each wears gloes, shoes, and shoulder pads. I don't think those need covered much, am I right? Just have 'em.

Now, there are non-appearance details to these guys (I guess, sure), which seem to be very pushed aside. These fall into two categories: gameplay and storyline. For the latter, we don't know the first thing about Meta outside of his name or about Galacta outside of being a powerful warrior. I wouldn't kill myself, if I were you, on fashioning some giant epic on their past. As for how they behave when fought as a boss (that's what they'd be taken as, after all), keep it loose. How they move about, any big special attacks they perform. Keep it action oriented. Words like "powerful~!" have no meaning, as always.
