Once in a Blue Moon

It was a clear night sky over Rainbow Resort and -- could it be? A rare blue moon appears! It seems like ages since one of these showed up. The last time one did, you went on quite the adventure. If only... if only you could find-

It is here! None other than the fabled Twilight Bridge! You fond memories will have to wait as the structure quickly begins to the fade. Your round little feet can barely keep on solid footing. You quickly race along and see... the hole? Surely, this cannot be the same pitfall that was being patched up by-

"I've had a lot goin' on, okay?" snaps the green goblinoid in his own defense.

Well, I guess that answers your question. Down in the darkness lurks nobody's favorite snarky snapper, Squeaky Bogg. But, why is he hiding in a hole that he's supposed to be fixing?

"I'm hidin' down here," answers the imp, able to hear your thoughts somehow. "Ya weren't thinkin'. Ya've just been sayin' all this stuff out loud." Well, one mystery solved. "Anyhoo, this is the only place I can find peace. All the quarrelin' over the throne to Rainbow Resort just became too much for me. Apparently, keepin' the place from falling into ruins -- moreso -- doesn't earn one much respect."

"Fortunately, while patchin' the place up, my bro an' I were sure to build in secrets. Ya know, doors, passages, tomatoes, self-destruct buttons; ya never know what ya're gonna need. Turns out, we needed more."

A hidden world within the Resort? You had to see this! Joining the acrid answerer, you journeyed the many tunnels. There, you saw many splendors. A stack of letters sat near two desks were a duo franticly drew away at answers. A lounging chair had a pipe, still smoking, for Uncle Gobbo to plop and contemplate the many puzzles of Pop Star. But, more noticable, were the many others wandering about. Those who mattered most in all the Rainbow Resort -- the fans. They openly walked about and spoke to one another of ideas and hopes, and there was actually a venue to do this. They exchanged pictures and thoughts with all the gusto they desired. There was no fear of upsetting some higher power for the Twilight Bridge shielded them. It was wonderous, yes, but also-

- it was but a dream. You wake up to piercing rays of dawn. No moon is in the sky, save for Mr. Shine on his morning jog, and only his sweat bands are blue. There's no Twilight Bridge and, therefore, no underground world. Everything is just as it had been. Just a dream, right? Well, you still can dream.
