First of all, K:NID is a remake, meaning the storyline is NOT changed. Secondly, did you beat the game, Emerald? Note, after you defeat Nightmare, there's a sequence where Kirby's riding the Warpstar and it tells you that Dedede meant no harm, he was only trying to help. There's where it tells you. You should take a closer and more thorough (sp?) look at the game. ^_^ See ya!
