I have a few things to say that may or may not be very relevant.
1: It took me a minute to realize that I was the author of this thread. Man, that was 3 years ago! I've changed so much (man, the title is horrible)!
2: The only shipping I currently support in the anime is Dedede x Escargon. That pairing is so legit. Hehehe...
3: Fumu is a great character (in my opinion), but I'm guilty of being hasty with shipping her with others because she's the only prominent female character in the whole show. I need to re-watch a ton of episodes before I can pass any fair or sensible judgement on how I think about shipping her now.
4: I used to support Fumu x Meta Knight. I really did. I wrote a horrible fanfiction on it called "Orange Ocean". I'm not going to link anybody to it because it sucks. I wrote it my freshman year of high school. HOWEVER, I have kept it up because I feel like it is a part of my writing past, sort of like keeping old artwork for the sake of seeing how much you improve. I do (eventually) plan on rewriting it. The original took place throughout the course of "Meta Knight's Revenge" from Kirby Super Star and explained why Fumu is only in the anime. I would rewrite it to explain what happened to Escargon and Fumu, but the characters would stay in character this time, and there would be no clear shipping among the characters. The remake I'm planning on writing would also explain why cappies in the games have mushrooms on their heads.
5: Gay does not make it non-child material. I think the problem is that most people associate gay with inappropriate and/or sexual (in which most cases it is, as far as anime is concerned) but in reality the things America considers as "child appropriate" differs from Japan. Also, child-romance incorporations come in one of two forms (usually): generic or not at all. Think about Disney movies, especially the Disney princess movies. Girl meets guy. Bam. Or think about Pokemon. Ash x Misty was totally there, but was doomed to never make any real screen time because it falls under the same category as Hoshi no Kaabii. Or think about Hayao Miyzaki's films (Kiki's Deliery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, etc...) when there's an innocence in the couples- there's nothing sexual about them. Wait, so I guess that makes 3 categories. Well those films (all awesome, might I add) are Japanese, so I guess that makes it different anyways. The point is, if the homosexual couples would be portrayed similar to the above films, it would be kid appropriate. But, unfortunately, the chances of that happening any time soon is close to nil, though I think that would help open acceptance to homosexuality... (I better not go there, don't want to start a topic within a topic)
6. Sailor moon. lmao. Ah, the 90's. I'm glad you brought that up. Japan is so much more lenient.
7. As the author of this thread, can I request that this thread be locked? Unless someone else wants to keep this going, I would someone else start a new thread instead of use this one.
