The terriblest of terribliness has occured.
Long story short: All remixes uploaded after 2009-8-30 are gone. I do not know what I will do now, so the website's status is absolutely instable for the moment. Please check back soon to see what will happen, if anything at all. Of course, you may still get all the older remixes from there.
To those interested in the background story:
As written in the news, the remix archive runs on two domains; final.net16.net and final.webatu.com. The index page itself (the list linking to the files) runs on net16 and thus gets quite a few visits per day (that is you, the visitors). The other, however, serves just as a storage for remixes that didn't fit on the old site anymore (which, coincidentally, were all those uploaded after the date mentioned above, as that is when I made the second account). Having no real website of its own (why should it), it gets few hits, save for the access to the individual files, but that does not count. The host I am using, 000webhost.com, makes sure that all their domains are actively used so they don't have to host them for nothing. I received an eMail about the account being threatened to be removed due to inactivity on January, 15th. I have received lots of these eMails in the past, and they never were a problem; I simply clicked a link as they asked me to and ensured the account's further existance. But for some reason that I have not figured out yet (and probably never will), it didn't work this time. They therefore shut the account down, deleting all the files that were hosted there. It is possible to recreate that account, which I did, but it is reset to its initial, empty state, with all the files being lost in virtual nirvana.
Of course, I still have a hard copy on my local harddrive. But uploading them and, much worse, linking them again, would take several days, as it did in the first place. I am not sure what to do yet. There seems to be no other free webhoster out there that is even remotely comparable to that one, and until this day, I've never had problems with them. I will not pay for webspace.
The future is a mystery. Stay tuned.
Edit: The .
Edit #2: The link above seems not to work, I have no idea why (and I don't give a f- whatever). I am uploading all the files again, hoping that by keeping the old folder structure up, I will not have to relink at least some of them.
