HAL is working on a new Kirby project. No other details are available at this time.

What do you think it’ll be? I hope it finally brings something new to the table, but for all we know it could be the same old formula, another spin-off, or perhaps not even a game at all.

Ooh, a new Kirby project... hopefully it's not just a disappointing re-release like Extra Epic Yarn. Hmm... I guess we'll see eventually.

we're a bit overdue for a weird spinoff game... i think the last one that wasn't a remake was rainbow curse. i'd love to see something wild on the switch.

Yeah, I'd like to see another spinoff too. Imo those are the best ones and the ones that are less likely to be yet another simultaneous clone of Kirby Super Star and Kirby 64.

I mean, don't get me wrong, those are awesome games. But many of the games since that era have just incorperated elements from those two over, and over, and over and over and over-

It was honestly pretty cool in Return to Dreamland, and working so similarly to RtDL worked well for Triple Deluxe, but after Robobot and possibly to an extent Star Allies doing the same thing as well (correct me if I'm wrong though, I've never played Star Allies other than a brief GameStop demo), I think it'd be nice to see something a little... different from the usual "team up with your helpers and find scattered crystal shards/energy spheres/sun stones/code cubes/etc., then fell your true enemy!" this time, instead of just expecting the same old thing.

Whatever it turns out to be, I hope Bandana Dee gets to continue the perfect attendance streak he's had since Mass Attack. It's gotten to a point where the games wouldn't feel right without him at least tossing items to Kirby from the background.

I wouldn’t say the modern games are like Kirby 64 at all. If that was the case then the 2.5D gameplay would have finally come back.

They're kind of like Kirby 64 in that there's objects hidden in the levels that you have to find like the Crystal Shards (such as RtDL's Energy Spheres, TDX'S Sun Stones, Robobot's Code Cubes, etc.), but that's really the only similarity.

Although Robobot did implement a little bit of the 2.5D view in some areas.

I will never stop complaining about Kirby GCN being cancelled.

That probably would have been by far the best game... why would they even cancel something with so much potential?

Because it was revealed late in the GCN’s lifespan, was going to be on a poorly selling system, and was scrapped in favor of RtDL.

I’m even madder about Cosmic Chaos being abandoned, as it looks like it was created to fill in the gap of there being no Kirby GCN.

I love RtDL, but would prefer GCN any day of the year.

Also, stupid detail I noticed from the gorgeous trailer; the grass world in GCN appears to be Fantasy Meadows from Air Ride.

Interesting. I wouldn't know as of yet, I've yet to play Air Ride, but I will soon enough. Thank you, Wii that has the ability to play GameCube games.
