Port of the 2011 Wii game but with a blander logo. Has cartoon-like art style with outlines around the characters. Has a new copy ability (Mecha) and a collection of legacy sub-games. Releases February 24th, 2023. Pre-orders begin today.

Looks like I won’t have to replay the original RtDL because this port is coming. And it’ll presumably be more worth it than Skyward Sword. Probably. Because Wii U ports were the old trend. Wii ports are the hot new thing right now! (R.I.P. Rainbow Curse. Stuck in Wii U purgatory alongside Nintendo Land and Xenoblade Chronicles X.)

(Yes, I’m getting this. Most likely, anyway.)

Just in case if ppl missed direct or wants to go over the video directly, then here it is

Graphics and design on triple D almost matched the same as Forgotten lands though. i've gotten a closer look at it.

I'm pretty much sold on this game so apparently i don't need to know the whole story and cutscenes of the game since i own the original version. i'm guessing my nephews will get it too.

I believe the file size for the game is 6.0GB for those that are getting it digitally for various reasons such as no ways of getting the game in physical copy regardless of buying the game in physical copy aside from online store sites, can't drive to the nearest store, and/or nearest retail store closed for business (such as gamestop).

Woooo! My first Kirby game is getting remade! Them using the newer designs is pretty neat. I hope they'll remake a few songs at least.

This looks like a very promising remake indeed! Not only that, there's even a new Mecha ability plus it looks like old minigames from old Kirby games will be appearing too. Gotta love that moustached Magolor as well!

Why... I mean, it looks well done and all (logo aside), but why. I don't think that the game needed a remake at all, aside from being unavailable on modern systems (a Wii virtual console on the next console could have solved the problem easily without a remake).
Additionally, it's one of my least favorite Kirby games (if not THE), so I'm not interested in it and I have to wait at least next summer for potential updates on the future of Kirby, this is frustrating.

I'm still waiting for a proper remake of Kirby 64 with redesigned gameplay and the removed content reimplemented, but at this point I'm starting to think that it will never come, they skipped over the Dark Matter trilogy as a whole and seem to have no intention to revisit them.

Unless they put the Dream Friends in and let me play the game as my favorite characters*, I will definitely skip this one.
*including and especially in the minigames, it doesn't feel right that there's a decent collection of minigames from the past and you can only choose between 4 characters (5 because it's obvious that Magolor is unlocked at some point)... for example I can't imagine Bumper Crop Bump from Kirby 64 without Adeleine, that game is so much iconic to her that they even referenced it in a stone statue.

I can totally see them not putting the Dream Friends in (aside of Magolor) because the Dream Friends are Star Allies' selling point and if they do it, they would cannibalize the potential sales of the other game.

Well Comparing to the switch and wii version changes aside from graphics and design changes, new, and possibly returning abilities. Controls will also be changed (rather than shaking the wii remote).

Happy New Year! We still have no new info on this game despite it releasing in less than two months. lol

Also, I’ve decided that I’m not going to buy this game. Not at launch, anyway. I’ll probably pick up a used copy in 2024. Maybe. I mean, I tried replaying DL3 and 64 via Switch Online last year and even my spark for THOSE games has fizzled out, so I really think I just don’t like Kirby anymore.

Seriously though, there better be some super exciting stuff in a February/March direct or at E3 because other than Fire Emblem which is releasing THIS month, this is looking to be a BORING year. I don’t care for Zelda, and I don’t care for Pikmin either but I am happy for the fans who very much deserve the game after so long. Maybe there’s some insane stuff we don’t know about simply because it wasn’t ready to be shown back in September. I hope I’m right on that one, for the love of Naga.

Finally. That was a long time coming.

I really do wish they would stop making new abilities just for the sake of it because after 50+ abilities they’re clearly running out of ideas and would be better off just bringing back old ones, but unlike Forgotten Land I don’t outright hate them, so I don’t know.

At least they brought back the best sub-games. They better not have made them easier like they do with everything nowadays.

The games aren't even that fun if they stop making new abilities. New abilities is what makes the game more fun and interesting to play as and you'll never know when you need them.

Just so you guys know that sand ability is a new ability, but festival ability is a returning ability from star allies.

It's true that they need to bring back the old ones, but the question is will archer return? who knows for sure cuz there was a bow weapon-like enemy that can potentially be an archer ability. The rest, we don't know for sure

That new Sand ability sure looks fun. The fact that you can hide in the dunes to avoid enemy attacks and then counterattack with a surprise move impresses me.

Plus, the new Super Ability transformation scenes look beautiful.

It's not just new and returning abilities that are coming to the game, but there's also some of the returning mini-games from the past kirby games as well.

If it helps to know the info about the mini-games, here's the video of it

While only 4 characters seem to be playable in the game, there's a mask feature which allows you to put the mask of any character from the series over them, both in the main game and in minigames. They aren't actual characters, just masks, but from the screenshots it seems that some of them have sounds... possibly they will change the sound effects of the character who wears them.

And there's something that I noticed... Adeleine's Mask has the sound effects icon.
Adeleine and Ribbon are separated this time, so it's unlikely that Adeleine's sounds are the crystal shard sfx (that's likely Ribbon's mask sound). I remember from an old interview that Adeleine was supposed to have a voice in Star Allies, and they even hired a voice actress for her, though at the end they scrapped the idea and made her silent like in the original game. Even in past games, Adeleine never did any sound (aside of that pastel scratching effect in K64, maybe), so if her mask has sounds, I guess if that's the scrapped voice they recorded for Star Allies... I'm kinda curious. Maybe it's just the pastel sound though...

Well we don't know the ways of obtaining them aside from having the datas from past kirby games such as Star allies, forgotten land(s), fighters 2, super kirby clash, and dream buffet if the game has the features unlocked by other games without working up our way on them.
