Made a render of a dark matter model I made.
(also yes I forgot to put the "zig-zag" texture on his coat)

Heh, I find it funny certain characters receive boosts in pictures every now in then. But, for the model itself. You are awesome! I love how detailed it is. Keep up the good work!

this looks like one of those models for that new Kirby anime episode thingy!! Great job, it looks really professional!

It almost looks like it's made out of clay (a compliment, actually)! The Darkmatter Swordsman is a beloved and legendary character in the Kirby series; you have really captured both qualities and his likeness in this model. I remember when everyone used to think that, instead of his obvious cycloptic appearance, this form of DM had two black eyes within his thin visor. Upon the discovery of Official Artwork, this is no longer the case~!

I'm guessing that the model used some kind of painting filter/shader? It looks quite artistic!

Yes I used a toon shader on the model mixed with bump map generated from a "cloudy" black and white texture, then I added a bunch of lights on a few focused point each with a different intensity. Then finally I added a 2D filter that slightly simulate aquarel.

Haha, I agree with Daimyo about it almost appearing like clay! As Miyazaki once said, "You must make everything with your hands, even if it's on the computer." I think it helps to make it look authentic. Wink

Why so many Giant Eyes in Kirby? I prefer this version of Dark Matter
