Wheel_Sleep.jpg
Wheel / Sleep1804 viewsThe fastest ability and the absolute slowest ability! Wheel is a mighty destructive force, like the Tornado of the ground. With this ability, Kirby sports a backwards red racing cap, while resting. When he activates the wheel attack, Kirby's body actually morphs into a pink wheel, capable of running down nearly any enemy or obstacle in the way. He can speed over water and is invincible to most attacks in this form. However, when turning, or if he strikes a solid wall, Kirby will be rendered vulnerable and stunned for a split second; just long enough to seal his fate! Oppositely, the Sleep Ability is completely stationary (even more-so than Stone) and has no method of offense what-so-ever. Really, it is more of a liability than anything good, and is best avoided. Some (the game-designers, apparently) love this ability because it makes Kirby look even more cute than he already is, what with his stocking cap and drool, but even I discard this facet of Sleep. Though crappy in most every appearance, Sleep actually proved useful in two games. In Kirby Air Ride, players who made contact with a racer overcome with Sleep caused the ability to be passed onto them, as well. Also, in Kirby Squeak Squad, the upgraded version of Sleep would restore a lot of the user's health, sacrificing the ability afterword. I know I said I'd do two updates today, but I'm overcome with work, and want to prolong these figs a little longer...4 commentsDedede-DaimyoAug 12, 2009
Stone_Cutter.jpg
Stone / Cutter1812 viewsWitness the true, unpainted, nature of this horrible clay I will never again use! Stone Ability is the ultimate in defense/ invulnerability. Stone's appearance shares a Kabuto helmet with Ninja ability. Kirby can go from being light and soft, to being hard and heavy in an instant. The falling stone is a powerful move, utterly crushing anything below, while allowing the user to be forever free from harm. The downside is that enemies can attack if you let your guard down too soon... While Stone is probably the biggest example of immobile abilities, Cutter takes the cake for its projectile prowess. Utilizing a strange hat (which I believe is a fusion of Ultraman, Arale, and Chichi) Kirby throws off a sharp blade to attack enemies. After tossing the boomerang, Kirby can either catch it when it returns, or jump over it, allowing it to strike foes behind him. The Crystal Shards killed stone, making it a walking rock-implosion, which was only semi-invincible. The idea later carried over to the Metal Ability. Super Star killed cutter, allowing over half of it's attacks to be closed-ranged. That is what Sword is for! *I don't actually mean “killed”, more like “modified”~!.2 commentsDedede-DaimyoAug 09, 2009
Fighter_Plasparkma.jpg
Fighter / Spark1837 viewsThe Kirby Sculptures continue with weekend updates, as well~... Fighter is an ability hailing from Kirby's Super Star. Similar to Throw and Suplex/Backdrop, Fighter dons a headband, instead colored red. Kirby can punch, kick, spin and blast with all his fighting spirit. The judo throws are fun to perform, too. Kirby can even be a(n) Megaton Punch. Spark, on the other hand, is a stationary ability. Kirby wears an elemental crown like that of Fire and Ice (even tornado) with this ability. Squatting down, the user surrounds theirself in an electric field. It is sometimes combined with/ replaced by/ confused with the Plasma ability. Plasma generates it's energy through static friction and is projectile based, making it much different to Spark. **Sorry, everyone, for my surly attitude as of late. The last thing I want to do is let my ego take over. Forgive me, and hopefully we can all endure these few Kirby Ability figs, to embrace the grand artwork that is forthcoming! ^_^*8 commentsDedede-DaimyoAug 09, 2009
Fire_Ice.jpg
Fire / Ice1999 viewsOh-nos! Mo' awful Kirby sculptures~! That's right, today is the old contrasting cliche of fire and ice, so go suck it. Both Fire and Ice abilities can be combined with their lesser-known counterparts, Burning and Freeze, on occasion. Fire ability's main attack is a breath of flame from the mouth. It can also ignite the user's body in flame for greater attack power. Ice is similar, blowing a freezing stream of breath from the mouth, and surrounding the user's body in a blizzard. Fire can melt blocks of ice, while Ice can freeze over rivers of fire. Quite a balance of abilities, indeed. Anyone who finds flaws in these Kirby ability sculptures, don't hesitate to point them out. I agree that they are not my best. But really, have you seen any better, from anyone else?14 commentsDedede-DaimyoAug 07, 2009
Bomb_Hammer.jpg
Bomb / Hammer1784 viewsMore Kirby Ability sculptures >_>*... well, here they are. Both Bomb and Hammer are powerful abilities, but their styles differ drastically. For example, Bomb is a projectile weapon. With this ability, Kirby wears the stocking cap of Poppy Bros., and is able to throw an unlimited amount of explosive bombs. Where they come from is anyone's guess, but the bombs are a great attack (if aimed properly) yet make for good defense when a bomb-drop barrier is deployed.
Hammer is a heavy-duty close-range weapon. Kirby wears a twisted/ knotted festival headband and always carries his hammer in plain sight. The wooden weapon can pound steaks and quickly take down any enemy in Kirby's way. King Dedede uses it, so you know it has to be good. Compared to sword, it is more powerful, but slower, and both are virtually very close-ranged.

Sword_Parasol.jpg
Sword / Parasol2052 viewsThankyou for being patient. After long wait, the Kirby Super Star Set of Sculptures kick-starts with double updates of Kirby Abilities! Fist up is Sword ability, a well-known weapon (prolly 'cuz Meta Knight...), but in my opinion, not so great of an ability. Kirby dons a parody of Link's hat and continuously displays his sharp Master Sword with this ability. Good for short, quick attacks with little punch behind them. Next is the lesser-known, but somehow present in more games, ability Parasol. Staying true to his roots, Kirby wears no hat with this unique ability, but always holds an open umbrella over his head. With a few good attacks, the main use of Parasol is it's defensive capabilities. Also can be used to slow one's decent through the air. *For more info on how these and other abilities work, check out SiR6's Ability Reviews and the Fan Ability reviews portion of this site*
For all future reference, my 'Kirby's Ability' sculptures are specifically made of that horrible brown, bulk-quantity, air-drying clay. For this reason, and the fact that I disliked the repetitiveness of making the pink puff so many times over, some may be of lower quality than my norm. Please excuse this, and look forward to more 3D Daimyo Dojo!

Kirby_s_Friends-_Miniboss_Tower-_Boss_Butch.jpg
Kirby's Friends / Miniboss Tower / Boss Butch2226 viewsA vertical triptych of photographs. First is an arrangement of sculptures parodying the famous title screen pic of Kirby's Dreamland 3, also seen on Kindar's humongous front-page post. Second is a literal tower of Mini/Mid/Sub Bosses: 3 on the left appear only (in this series) in KDL2, 3 on the right appear only in KDL3, and 3 in the center appear in both games. Third and finally is the ever-present boss-battle montage pic. Much like the series finally 'Photo Shoot', except now Dedede gets his turn at the 'camera'. Thanks, everyone, for viewing my effort-full Kirby clay sculptures! As the staff-roll of Kirby's Super Star says, “And More~!” Look for much more of my artwork here in the future :)3 commentsDedede-DaimyoAug 02, 2009
Photo_SHOOT!_3.jpg
Photo SHOOT! (Bonus 3)1989 viewsA long time coming... and here it is, finally! Before you are all of the clay sculptures in my "Kirby's Dreamland 2+3" series of figures. Most returning enemies and bosses have been seen many times before, while those new to DL's 2 and 3 are a fresh sight. This time, King Dedede and the Animal Friends intervene in Kirby's Shotzo shenanigans-- but who has really pulled the trigger? Also seen is my early figure of 'Possessed Dedede' from that one IF contest. Don't worry about Kirby... it's really Batamon in the center~!
Stay tuned next week for a brand new series of sculptures in my one and only, 3D Daimyo Dojo!

RealDarkMatter.JPG
Real Dark Matter2148 viewsThe second form of KDL2's final boss; Dark Matter also appears in KDL3 and K64. After shedding his samurai cloak and armor, DM reviles his true self to Kirby as they duke it out in space. In both of the times he is battled, DM shoots black lightning out of his eye and lets loose the orange/purple orbs from his back which home-in on Kirby. The Rainbow Sword can reflect these orbs back at DM in DL2. However, in DL3, Kirby gains the superior Love-Love Stick, composed of all the heart-stars gained throughout the game, and used that to delete Dark Matter. Zero is the driving force behind DM, but I never made him, because he would just be a giant waste of clay. DM has the ability to possess people and things, which is the biggest threat he poses. His relative is Miracle Matter, and possibly Dark Nebula.
> Japanese Guru man here again! In this installment, I have a theory that will blow Dark Matter's origin out of the water. Deeply hidden in the lore of Japanese monsters, there is a creature called the "Bakkubea-do" (Backbeard/Bugbear) based on the concept of the Boogieman in the West. Anyway, its traditional appearance is that of an immense, floating black ball with a single eye in the center. This may seem common, but it also has protrusions on its backside, more root/branch-like than the orbs of Dark Matter, but serve the same purpose, as they go after its prey. The Back Beard is said to be the ruler of all Western monsters, in contrast with the Yokai of Japan. As such, it is rumored to be made of the smog from burning fossil fuels. The similarities don't end there; besides being the manifestation of fear, its most prominent trait is its ability to hypnotize people who stare into its eye, not unlike how Dark Matter possesses others. I may just be putting too much thought into it, but you got to admit that the similarities between the two are uncanny. A picture of the Back Beard, for comparison <http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/kitaro/charactor/images/img_backbeard.jpg>

DarkMatterSwordsman.JPG
Dark Matter Swordsman2244 viewsThe first form of Dark Matter. If Kirby has collected all of the Rainbow Drops scattered throughout the islands of Kirby's Dreamland 2, Dark Matter will escape to the sky from the defeated King Dedede. Combining the Drops into the flying Rainbow Sword, Kirby will ascend to the sky himself, to do battle with the dark menace. Dark Matter can slash with his sword, but he also fires off dark orb projectiles, which Kirby can reflect back at the Swordsman for an effective counter attack. One would wonder exactly why Dark Matter goes through the trouble of dressing up in such attire and why does he use a sword to fight Kirby? It all seems pretty unnatural for this supernatural being. Perhaps, like Meta Knight, Dark Matter at first wishes to challenge the pink one to a fair duel, but upon losing, shows his true colors...11 commentsDedede-DaimyoJul 11, 2009
SweetStuff.JPG
Sweet Stuff1756 viewsLots of Sweet Stuff going around these days... The big boss of Ripplefield in Dreamland 2 is an insane anglerfish with an electrified lure. Like Acro, Sweet stuff is battled under water. Also like the orca, this anglerfish is indeed FEMALE! Yes, the female species of this fish is actually quite large, while the male is less than 100 times smaller in comparison. Anyhoo, Sweet Stuff is able to materialize Tinsel, the infamous cycloptic starfish, along with Gordo and Squishy to run in to Kirby. However, Kirby can send them, save Gordo, right back at 'er with a blast of his bubble gun. She can also fire damaging vibrations and electro-balls from her glowing lure; these cannot be utilized and must be avoided. As with all underwater levels, the aid of Kine levels the playing field. She cameos in KDL3 as part of Ado's painted boss battle. And now, a looming Darkness approaches...7 commentsDedede-DaimyoJul 09, 2009
IceDragon.JPG
Ice Dragon1922 viewsThe big bosses continue~! Ice Dragon is the refrigerated reptilian ruler of iceberg island in Kirby's Dreamland 2. Despite his heavy appearance, ID is able to hover in battle by rapidly spinning his tail. When he lands, the shock-wave causes sharp icicles to fall from his cave's ceiling. Also by spinning his tail, ID can whiz toward Kirby, while he releases an icy fire from his gaping maw. Another use for his tail, Ice Dragon can send a frozen stalagmite along the floor in Kirby's direction. This guy was somehow popular enough to cameo in KDL3 as one of Ado's killer paintings, again in K64 as one of Adeleine's attack arts, and at least twice during the entire run of the anime. This guy gets around! (with the aid of his tail) :D6 commentsDedede-DaimyoJul 08, 2009
