Dedede-Daimyo presents: Samurai Kirby!5914 viewsThe New Year 2009 is upon us, my friends! As I have promised, I have returned with Macro-functioning camera in hand, able to display my extentuous hand-crafted collection of Kirby artworks in all their glory! Throughout 2009, I will update this album (3D Daimyo Dojo!) EVERY WEEKDAY, just like Sakurai's famous blog this past year! For all future reference, these sculptures are made from Super Sculpey polymer clay and colored in acrylic paint. Join me, KRR and 3D fans, for an astounding New Year!!!7 commentsDedede-Daimyo
King_Dedede_Ultra.JPG
King Dedede Ultra3200 viewsAfter a long leave of absence, the 3D Daimyo Dojo returns with the greatest Dream-King-figurine the world has ever seen! Personally, I believe this is my best sculpture yet (even though it was finished a year ago), and seriously, could it possibly be topped? I tried to depict Dedede in the exact style of Kirby Super Star, with the outlined waistband, hammer-stars, and self-insignia on the back of his robe. Even his pose: basic, yet forever defining. Everything about this harkens back to the golden-age of Kirby, and reflects my obsession with the character. Though, I am not obsessed enough to sculpt an updated “Masked Dedede” version, simply because I feel this one is too good to improve upon. FYI: all of my sculptures are made of beige Super Sculpey Polymer Clay and are hand-painted in acrylics.
So, I'm in art-college now. Based on just three-hours of class-time so far, I can say (imprudently) that I am already way beyond the teachings of this institution, having learned this stuff in gifted art-classes since elementary school. Whaha, but we shall see what lies in the future... Anyway, to my surprise/delight, this time away from home will provide me with unheard-of amounts of free-time (since I no longer have to work a daily job), and I plan to make much more art for KRR. This includes finishing my Ultimate Kirby Super Star 3D Sculptures; new 2D artwork in colored pencil, ink, and the return to watercolors; a new secret Essence pic; gallery comments; mailbag, and more~! Perhape I will also begin that manga-series I mentioned before... among other things. Sooo, anticipate the greatness, fans, friends, and followers!

Marx.jpg
Marx2879 viewsThe Super Star Sculpture Set finishes up today with two well known bosses. Marx first appears as a jolly little friend, comparable to Poppy Bros., who lays out the events of Milky Way Wishes, and urges Kirby to find the Wish-granting NOVA. However, all of this is really a ploy to beat Kirby to NOVA and wish for "OMG, UBER POWERZ!!1" so he may take over Popstar. In his transformed state, Marx can fly, shoot waves of arrows, drop an ice bomb, release multiple cutters, attack with thorny rose vines, and even fire his almighty laser! Anyway, Marx is eventually defeated by Kirby, with his collection of Copy Ability Essences. For a more intense and 'makes-more-sense' review of the character, be sure to read Bimblesnaff's “Fan Thoughts” critique. This sculpture's arms/ upper wings have a wire skeleton within to prevent breakage; also held up by a wire base. His hexagonal 'feathers' are painted on a clear piece of plastic attached to the back of his wings. Over all, this figure is pretty dang long...7 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Lololo___Lalala.JPG
Lololo & Lalala2794 viewsA duo boss battle. Lololo and Lalala are a cameo couple from the HAL made Eggerland/ Adventures of Lolo games. Like in the puzzle games, they push boxes around an enclosed room, in KDL and KSS, this time to defend their haunted Castle from Kirby. The two are alike in size and shape, the only differences are that Lololo is blue and Lalala is pink and wears a bow. Who can say if they are husband and wife, or brother and sister? It is Foolish to begin their names with F.8 commentsDedede-Daimyo

Photo SHOOT! (Bonus 1)2704 viewsI am very proud of how this one turned out =D ...There is no need to go into detail on this one, I will let you all interpret it for yourselves. I'll probably do another similar to this, after the Kirby's Adventure series of figures is all uploaded. (It makes a great wallpaper ^_^) See you on the flipside, fans!10 commentsDedede-Daimyo
SK~_Meta_Knight.JPG
Samurai Kirby!~ Meta Knight2685 viewsMeta Knight, or more accuratly, Meta Samurai, is the toughest of all challengers in this minigame. He has such skill and is so quick, that he is able to strike within a fraction of a fraction of a second from when the exclamation sounds. His weapon of chioce is a broad katana. He wears his mask with a slice over the eye, cape and collar, armored sholderpads, straw sandles, and his [hair!?] up in chongmange style. However, in his first appearence, Samurai MK was only scantily clad.6 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Smash_MK.jpg
Smash Meta Knight2679 views*Cue RoMK Halberd Music* Oh yea, my peoples~ Feast your eyes on this fully rendered, incredibly detailed, and superlatively (etc.) wondrous Master MK Sculpture! Meta Knight kicks as much butt in Brawl, as he does in my 3D Dojo! Kirby's rival is a dark and deadly ball of terror on the battlefield. His quick and versatile playstyle and mastery of the Galaxia sword allow him to deliver the “Meta Knightmare” to unsuspecting players. Many of MK's attacks and abilities come from the games he has appeared in. Of course, his sword attacks derive from the Sword Ability and/or the encounters with the boss in various games, yet techniques like the Shuttle Loop and the ability to fly come from Super Star's wing ability and the Revenge of Meta Knight subgame. Also from KSS come MK's giant Battleship, the Halberd (redesigned) and his overly-powered Mach Tornado, which may also be based on Tornado Ability. Unlike Kirby, MK's look has been slightly updated for his debut in SSB: He always wears his cape (which has a bat printed on the back) during the fight, instead of discarding it; his shoulder-armor comes to a point on the edges, as well as now displaying his “M-sword” mon (first seen in RoMK) and red-tildes; shoes change to purple-plated armor over black leather; and his mask, instead of being secured to his face by a band, is held on by two small clips. *Cue RoMK Ending Music*13 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Boss_Rush--_Miniboss_Tower.JPG
Boss Rush / Miniboss Tower2643 viewsAll the bosses (excluding Nightmare Orb) and minibosses from the original Kirby's Adventure. This finishes up the second set of sculptures seen so-far. You can compare sizes here, seeing as Kirby (and Meta Knight) are about and inch-and-a-half tall. 5 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Nightmare.JPG
Nightmare2520 viewsThe final sculpture in the 'Adventure series. It is the Cloaked Nightmare: corrupter of dreams and possessor of fountains. When he attacked the Dream-Spring, King Dedede split the Starrod up, sealing the Nightmare in the fountain. Kirby manages to reclaim all the pieces of the Starrod, and then unknowingly frees the beast! Nightmare's first form is a simple star-patterned ball (which I did not bother to make), and is fought falling from the sky. KA ends with Nightmare's defeat on the moon, and Kirby returning the Starrod to the Fountain of Dreams to bring sweet dreams to Dreamland. Head, Sholderpads, and Hand made of Super Sculpy Polymer Clay; Cloak made of air-drying, bulk clay.12 commentsDedede-Daimyo

Samurai Kirby!~ King Dedede2497 viewsDedede is the Daimyo of the 'Samurai Kirby' profecture! Seriously though, he is my avatar, if noone has noticed yet. I believe I have explained all there is about him in my 2D work, "Dedede Daimyo", so seek that out if you want to know about his outfit and such. Here, he is in a mie pose, seen in Kabuki theator; with his mallot behind him and his left arm outstreched. This sculpture is reminissent of another of my 2D works, "Dedede-Daimyo of KRR". This style is based off of the minigame in K:NiDL.10 commentsDedede-Daimyo

Photo SHOOT! (Bonus 2)2464 viewsIt's a biggie! A new Kirby's Photo shoot with almost all the sculptures seen thus far. Everyone I have made in the Kirby's Adventure series is here. Now you can see the madness from 3 different directions (3-D?!). Some of the poses were hard to get due to space and balance issues. The next group I will be doing is a combination of KDL2 & KDL3, because the two are so similar, and that I (may) be running low on reserves! Just kidding-- Many more glorious sculptures to come!6 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Whispy_Woods.JPG
Whispy Woods2441 viewsI present to you the first boss. Whispy Woods is always the first boss Kirby encounters. Don't go pulling out that he is not ALWAYS the first boss... because, in a way, he is! Whispy is an apple tree with a face and Uber powers. He can drop apples! And can blow gusts! Sometimes he can even shoot his roots out like skewers, or release his offspring to attack Kirby. When possessed, he can even uproot himself, give chase, and spit up rotten vegetables! No matter how hard he tries, though, Whispy can never escape the title of EASIEST BOSS EVER!12 commentsDedede-Daimyo
