Waiyu Ninja Squad4560 viewsThis is my next entry into Bimblesnaff's Fan-Creation Contest: Make Your Own Miniboss! It is a clan of ninja from the Kirby games, consisting of BioShasen (Biospark), SirKabuto (Sir Kibble), KaparKatta (Kapar), and MoyaTaru (an origional character). Finally, it is all headed by the leader, Ninja Master Waiyu (a gussied-up version of the KDL2 miniboss). This entry is not for voting, as I have already won the first contest. Check 'em out!8 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Essence_of_Epic_Yarn_001.jpg
Essence of Epic Yarn4392 viewsThe series continues~ #18! Hai! Not even a month after my supposedly final Dai-Essence-Drawing, when out of nowhere (E3) Nintendo throws a Kirve-ball and forces me to come out of retirement! It's a good thing, though, because quite frankly, no one can make a pic like me~ :) This is the moment we haven't known we were waiting for for years; Kirby finally comes to the Wii this fall in traditional 2D side-scrolling fashion!
This may be a little unorthodox/ presumptuous of me, crafting a fan-artwork of a game before it is even released. But this epic news has put me in the creative mood, enough to spend an entire week color-penciling the masterpiece you see before you! I'm sure it is easy to draw the outline-artstyle of KEY on the PC, however, it is infinitely harder when attempting to mimic the same style with traditional media. Especially since the characters are, for the most part, transparent, it is necessary to compose a complete background so no space is left blank. As is clear, I did not copy the new artstyle exclusivly; I also tried to incorporate the Kirby's Adventure commercial and other elements/ looks of Kirby's world. The characters I chose to include were the most recurring in the series, and ones I felt are most deserving of being in the upcoming game. I'll probably end up making another one of these, after the game's officially released, to incorporate the real bosses and whatnot. Just wanted to tide the fans over now because I will undoubtedly be busy later this year working on a certain secret project with a certain artist-elite (who probably now hates me for stalling forever, and who is surely heartbroken from my aloofness... Sumimasen)! Also on an unrelated note, there is the 4D Daimyo Dojo to look forward too, whatever that may be... so, Bye-cha~!

Fright-Light_001.jpg
Fright-Light4371 viewsThis is my second entry in Bimblesnaff's second Fan-Creation contest. This time, the character is totally original (mostly) and took a lot of thought to both design and plan moves for, so I would guess that it would be a good candidate for voting. I thought about not officially entering another, as I had won the first contest already, but I have reconcidered since this came out so well. This miniboss is based on the Chochin-Obake Tsukumogami from Japanese folklore, and rewards Kirby with the Light Ability.8 commentsDedede-Daimyo

Rolly the Rolling Turtle4328 viewsThis is how Rolling Turtle from Kirby's Adventure would function as one of Kirby's Animal Friends. To see his whole bio, check the "If You Could..." Fan-Submitted Animal Friends portion of the site. Drawn in pencil, colored in colored pencil, inked in ink-pen and permanent marker.7 commentsDedede-Daimyo

Essence_of_Pinball_Land_001.jpg
Essence of Pinball Land4226 views11th in my "Essence of" series, and the first in Kirby's Spin-off games. I will upload this sooner, rather than later, because the gallery has been too quiet ever since the beginning of the year. Kirby's Pinball Land for the GB was only the pink ball's third game, though it was quite fun! His body was perfectly suited for the game! This was also one of the few games where Kirby could not obtain abilities. Packed with boss battles and minigames, KPBL was unique and probably inspired future Kirby games.11 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Essence_of_Star_Stacker_001.jpg
Essence of Star Stacker4154 views15th in my “Essence of” series. This is a combo-picture. Kirby's Star Stacker for the Game Boy and the Japan-only Kirby's Sparkling Kids for Super Famicom were two of the same puzzle games in the series. The goal is to stack falling blocks in sequence, and pin Star-Blocks in-between matching Animal Friend-Blocks, in order to eliminate them, similar to PuyoPuyo and/or Kirby's Avalanch. While you're stacking, the two characters duke-it-out in the center! Both games go by the title “Kaabii no Kirakira Kizzu” in Japan, as the latter is just a suped-up version of the former. The story introduces Mr. Star, who gets shot out of the sky by King Dedede. He lands on Kirby, who agrees to help the star reclaim his scattered pieces, with the help of Rick, Kine, and Coo. Many characters return from other games, to my enjoyment; newly introduced are Tic-Tock Jr., the Queen of Star Stacking, Grill, and her onion-underlings. With all this, Kirby's Sparkling Kids is actually one of my favorites in the whole series (despite the fact that I've never even played it)! Whaha... I will let my art speak for itself~!13 commentsDedede-Daimyo
KRR_Kodomo_no_Hi_001.jpg
KRR "IF" Kodomo no Hi4139 viewsIf you guys thought my Hina Matsuri pic was good, then you will all love this. May 5th was Kodomo no Hi (Children's Day/ Boy's Day) in Japan, and though I am an entire month late, I hope that the good-cheer and festivity can still shine through today. I have included every Round Knight/ Red Knight, officially submitted or otherwise, in this double-wide picture extravaganza! To the best of my ability, no one was left out. This was a truely beloved contest, steaming with creativity and effort from the fans (and it's creator!), but I am not content by its lackluster finale. No offence, but shouldn't the fans be rewarded for all the hard work and originality they put into this? I hope my picture can serve as a consolation prize to all who submitted, participated in, or missed out on this Interactive Fandom contest. And, yes, I am now officially back to save the Gallery/ Mailbag/ KRR site from the stagnant drought of good art/ compassion/ fun.

Dedede_DaiOndo_001.jpg
Dedede Dai-Ondo4073 viewsI shall now post this, because the site it was on seems to be down right now. An entry into Leirin's (AnimeKittyCafe in the gallery) Kirby's Greatest Hits Super Songbook (KGHSS). It is a Japanese festival, with Dedede and his followers participating in a great Ondo song and dance. I also made lyrics to Dedede's Theme, in traditional Ondo style, to be uploaded to the KGHSS in the future. I encourage those who are interested in this project to participate; the rules and sign up can be found here [well, that's weird, I can't find that pic either... This message is sure to change when new development occures]. So, this is done in my watercolor style, with india ink outline. I think that this pic deserves alot of attention because I put much detail into it and worked on it for a surprisingly long time. With this out of the way, I will be taking off this week, working hard on new art that many will enjoy. So, without further humiliation, Sayonara.13 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Grey_Matter_001.jpg
Grey Matter4072 viewsKonbanwa, KRR~ It's not often that I create an artwork such as this. Many ideas and much imagination were brought together, from my heart- to my mind- to my hands, in order to compose such a chaotic array of design and interaction. Everyone speculates on the next level Zero may take if he is ever to return to the Kirby series. Most anticipate 0^3 as the next logical step-up, but what if the lineage went back to the basics (Dreamland 2) and a new form of Dark Matter was instead unleashed?
As stated, I was thinking over many things as the drawing was coming about. If Dark Matter were to be brought back in the upcoming Epic Yarn, how might they his alter its appearance to suit the game? (I know Kirazy did a great job on this already... Just bear with me!) The thought was, since DM is technically a vast mass of blackness, a simple outline of yarn would not do its form justice. Rather, if the yarn was compacted to give it a more solid appearance, this would work, but the resulting shape would be awkward and wrinkled.
On a completely different note, I have recently been introduced (indirectly) to a new wave of music by the band, Oingo Boingo, thanks to gallery favorite, Aru. Hai-hai, I know they're from the '80s, but my exclusive interest in Eastern music has somewhat blinded me to much of the greatest music from even my own country! Tonikaku, I went crazy and bought four of their CDs, and they're so cool! When I heard the song, “Grey Matter”, inspiration struck like a forged sword, and the way became clear =D
After all, Grey would be the median between Black (Dark Matter) and White (Zero)~
Incorporated into this picture are various elements of the Shimomura-saga of Kirby games. Kirby uses a combined Ice Ability to put the freeze on the big brain. Gooey and the basic Animal Friends return, as well as the Crystal Shards gang. Even Ko-Kracko and Whispy Woods Jr. assist in the struggle, standing-in for their much larger masters. In addition, with great honor, I also included the design for Aru's “02 Matter” knight, complying with the story of KDL2. I thank her in advance for letting me use this, and wish to express my gratitude for all she has done :)
Forgive me for building such a Text-block-tron of a message, but I don't always get to express myself in words, so when I do, I wish for them to be as beautiful as my artwork ^_^* This should be my last piece for a while, as I must concentrate on relationships and more important works. Hopefully, this hiatus will allow me to dish out some much-deserved Daimyo comments to great gallery works, and maybe a mailbag, omake. I believe I will put forth the effort to color all future colored-pencil pictures in the blended style seen here. Drawn in Pencil, Inked in India Ink Brush-Marker, and Colored in Crayolas, as usual.

Essence_of_Block_Ball_001.jpg
Essence of Block Ball4041 views14th in my "Essence of" series. Though the picture looks like the Classic Kirby we all know and love, Kirby's Block Ball for the GameBoy is anything but the average romp through Dreamland. Instead, this time our hero takes the form of a ball in a tedious game of "Breakout". In said game, one must control the bouncing ball to rid the room occupied by assorted bricks, but only by moving a small panel along the bottom of the screen. The story of KBB, is that King Dedede has built (another?!) castle on top of the Dream-Spring, and the only way Kirby can free it is by breaking all of the bricks that hold the chaos together... or something like that. Like most of the spin-off games, the plot doesn't matter as much as the gameplay. This game was notable for promoting previous common enemies to the position of level boss, all of whom you see here. And, show of hands, who here has ever actually drawn, let alone seen, the infamous pre-ultimate boss, Buu-Robo (top, center)? I thought so :P9 commentsDedede-Daimyo
Essence_of_Air_Ride_001.jpg
Essence of Air Ride4026 views17th and final (!?) in my glorious “Essence of Kirby” series~! The climax is here; the long-awaited and often-requested compilation of Kirby Air Ride for the Nintendo Game Cube has at last been revealed with no detail spared! Here, I've included all of the Air Ride machines, including legionaries; many of the game's unique characters, as well as returning favorites and Kirby colorations; and little hints of each mode (Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial). Every thing is arranged in a coiling vortex, with levels that rise toward the center and fall as it spirals outwards. The “track” itself has even been colored using each and every one of the 40-some colored pencils I own. I believe I really pulled out all the stops on this one; I wanted to include the most visualizations of any of my Essences yet, simply because this is the very last one (unless “you-know-what” comes out)...
I upload this a week from my 21st birthday, a time of great change for myself. I am happy to say, I've been accepted into a superb art-college for fall of this year; an important “coming of age” event, for sure. Before I deal with everything upcoming, however, I must first take the time to follow-through with a very special union. If all goes well, and if she agrees to forgive me, heheh ^_^*, it could prove to be a most illustrious gift for KRR, come this Christmas! I can no longer abdicate from my promises!
Anyway fans, expect a new series to succeed my Essences starting May 31. Anticipate the greatness And look forward to the future~!
