Essence of Air Ride3953 views17th and final (!?) in my glorious “Essence of Kirby” series~! The climax is here; the long-awaited and often-requested compilation of Kirby Air Ride for the Nintendo Game Cube has at last been revealed with no detail spared! Here, I've included all of the Air Ride machines, including legionaries; many of the game's unique characters, as well as returning favorites and Kirby colorations; and little hints of each mode (Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial). Every thing is arranged in a coiling vortex, with levels that rise toward the center and fall as it spirals outwards. The “track” itself has even been colored using each and every one of the 40-some colored pencils I own. I believe I really pulled out all the stops on this one; I wanted to include the most visualizations of any of my Essences yet, simply because this is the very last one (unless “you-know-what” comes out)...
I upload this a week from my 21st birthday, a time of great change for myself. I am happy to say, I've been accepted into a superb art-college for fall of this year; an important “coming of age” event, for sure. Before I deal with everything upcoming, however, I must first take the time to follow-through with a very special union. If all goes well, and if she agrees to forgive me, heheh ^_^*, it could prove to be a most illustrious gift for KRR, come this Christmas! I can no longer abdicate from my promises!
Anyway fans, expect a new series to succeed my Essences starting May 31. Anticipate the greatness And look forward to the future~!

Essence_of_Squeak_Squad_001.jpg
Essence of Squeak Squad5634 views10th in my "Essence of" series. Kirby sets off to reclaim his stolen shortcake, but winds up in a battle for treasure with a gang of marauders known as the Squeak Squad, in this unique DS game. Depicted here are the game's myriad bosses, Darocche, Ston, Spin, Doc, and the Squeakers, and Kirby beating the heck out of Dark Zero with the Tri-star wand. And, thus concludes the first chapter of my Essence of series: Kirby's "Main Series" games. Look for the next chapter: Kirby's "Spin-Off" games at a later date!19 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

Kine_Dedede_001.jpg
Kine Dededee3067 viewsI am sometimes, the very essence of, mischief, itself~! =D Aiya, it is a little too early for Halloween stuffs, but as I was working on my latest "Essence of" drawing (which should be finished sometime this weekend, hopefully) I realized how closely Kine resembles the King. The colors, mouth, 'googly eyes', and all; if the fish were just a bit more anthropormorphic, a Dedede he could be. Of course, I'm doin' it wrong... but this is just a quickie, so be happy with it :) India-Ink Pen + Colored Pencils used.17 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

Essence_of_Avalanche_001.jpg
Essence of Avalanche4548 views13th in my "Essence of" series. They're taking over!!! Yes, Kirby's Avalanche/Ghost Trap is a Puyo Pop clone puzzle game; making it similar to Dr. Mario. The only all-American Kirby game, Avalanche pitted Kirby against foes from older games, on a mission to reach the Dream Spring Championship. The game was overly simple; however, this pic turned out incredibly complex. I think this pic has taken the most time to complete yet. Looking back on my older work, I am sickened by lack of effort put into some, compared to my later stuff.24 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

Dedede_DaiOndo_001.jpg
Dedede Dai-Ondo3982 viewsI shall now post this, because the site it was on seems to be down right now. An entry into Leirin's (AnimeKittyCafe in the gallery) Kirby's Greatest Hits Super Songbook (KGHSS). It is a Japanese festival, with Dedede and his followers participating in a great Ondo song and dance. I also made lyrics to Dedede's Theme, in traditional Ondo style, to be uploaded to the KGHSS in the future. I encourage those who are interested in this project to participate; the rules and sign up can be found here [well, that's weird, I can't find that pic either... This message is sure to change when new development occures]. So, this is done in my watercolor style, with india ink outline. I think that this pic deserves alot of attention because I put much detail into it and worked on it for a surprisingly long time. With this out of the way, I will be taking off this week, working hard on new art that many will enjoy. So, without further humiliation, Sayonara.13 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

Heavenly_King_Dedede_001.jpg
Heavenly King Dedede3173 viewsKing Dedede (Daimyo) as one of the four Heavenly Kings of Buddhism who guard the cardinal directions. Waddle Dees pose as Oni, which he stands on. Inquire if you'd like to know more... Look at this people! The watercolor and ink combine on the page for a true work of art! Excruciating details ARE excruciating! This took alot of time, concentration, and skill to craft (as do all of my works) but, believe it or not, is not the reason I have been gone for over a month. My old motherboard had been fried by Zen, the intergalactic robot-ninja, and I had to battle the forces of good and evil to enact revenge! Now I have returned to the Rainbow Restort with a head of Zen, and a shiny new Toshiba Sword, forged in Japanese Hell and ready for new art-endeavors. The mailbag after this next one will surely feature me, so Rainbow Resorters, give me all you got! I will cut-down whatever you send with a slice of my pen. Watch your backs! I'm taking requests.11 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

Essence_of_Pinball_Land_001.jpg
Essence of Pinball Land4183 views11th in my "Essence of" series, and the first in Kirby's Spin-off games. I will upload this sooner, rather than later, because the gallery has been too quiet ever since the beginning of the year. Kirby's Pinball Land for the GB was only the pink ball's third game, though it was quite fun! His body was perfectly suited for the game! This was also one of the few games where Kirby could not obtain abilities. Packed with boss battles and minigames, KPBL was unique and probably inspired future Kirby games.11 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

YuYuKi(rby)_001.jpg
YuYuKi(rby)3150 viewsFinally, a new 2-D artwork of mine, after so long of time! This picture combines the most popular characters of Kirby with the classic Japan-exclusive game YuYuKi. In the past, main characters Chao and Goku have made cameos in Dreamlands 2 and 3, possibly due to Shimomura's involvement. YuYuKi is a text-based adventure game for the Famicom Disk System, based on the classic Chinese story of “Journey to the West”. Here, Kirby, King Dedede, Waddle Dee, and Meta Knight respectively portray characters Goku, Sanzo, Hakkai, and Gojo on their quest across the land, to enlightenment. I would have included Ribbon as Chao, but I wanted to save space at the top for other purposes relating to my long-awaited Mailbag Manga. Unfortunately, due to the insane amount of work I have been putting into it, the grand-epic one-shot story wont be done for at least one more week. With that said, I just wanted everyone to know that I am not dead, and my regular art-output of essence pics and painted-sculptures will resume once this ordeal has passed. As always, anticipate the greatness, and keep keeping-on KRR~!13 commentsDedede-Daimyo55555

Kitaro/ Kirby Crossover3956 views{PLEASE READ}
Happy Halloween, Kirby's Rainbow Resort! This year, Daimyo's conjured- up something great for the holiday spooktacular; a “Gegege no Kitaro” & “Hoshi no Kirby” Crossover! But, just what is this Kitaro, you may ask? Gegege no Kitaro (AKA: Kitaro of the Graveyard) is Japan's most famous classical manga about Yokai (mischievous Japanese spirits/ creatures) with an anime spanning nearly 6 whole series (one every decade)! Created in 1959 by Manga-ka, Shigeru Mizuki, it tells the story of a goblin-boy and his bizarre Yokai friends who get into freaky adventures, and meet even creepier characters, all while trying to preserve the peace between the human and Yokai realms. There have even been two movies made of the series to date; yet despite all of this, Gegege no Kitaro remains in Japan, untranslated, while the rest of the world (or, at least the U.S.) misses out, much to my dismay. I love all of the creative and often humorous Yokai-monsters of Japan, and just thought that it would be appropriate (and necessary!) to present the Resort with a little something this Hallow's Eve. So, with that, Have fun finding all the Kirby and Kitaro characters listed here~!

Dedede-Daimyo_of_Mailbag_Force_001.jpg
Dedede-Daimyo of Mailbag-Force3157 viewsHalf-a-month is too long for me to go without posting art in the gallery for fans of KRR. So, here I present a small token of my selfishness, narcissism, and vanity-- Ok, not really, but close~! As many of you may have known, I am now a semi-regular member of our glorious site's bi-weekly mailbag. Issue 69 featured the start of an awesome comic, known simply as "Mailbag Force". I've thought of continuing the series with each session I partake in, furthering my work-load, yet expanding the comic to a much-looked-forward-to feature. Also, I would perhaps like to work with others on this project...
Anyway, here is my character sheet, displaying the Daimyo's updated design and abilities. >Slash Pen like sword! >Super Daimyo Jump gets the heck outta there! >Kine Hammer pounds foes like mochi! >Kakegoe Inhale strength of lungs! >Chopsticks catch any/everything! >Break for tea~~ >Flap Fans to Flutter! >Power of the immense Ink-Brush! >Frantically build the Terracotta Army! >Last but not least, Essence Ondo Odori~! Primary Colors are sacred. Materials used: India Ink, Sakura Pen, Colored Pencils, Fibracolor Markers, Crappy Crayons.
