Kirby Air Ride is the first
Kirby game for Nintendo Gamecube, known as a Racing game.
This game mixes the most competitive races and the formula
of each Kirby game: copy abilities, lots of extras, and of
course, lots of fun!
Kirby Air Ride is a Racing game where you have to show off
your abilities riding the well-known Warpstar, with other
more machines, like Turbo Star, Swerve Star, or Wagon Star
(a total of 18 Air Ride machines). But there's one
difference: there's no accelerator! To solve this problem
and drive your Air Ride machine perfectly, holding A will
brake and charge your vehicle at the same time to perform a
Turbo to, more later, speed up quickly!
There's three modes in the game: Air Ride, where you
copy abilities (like Fire, Plasma, or Bomb for example)
and then you can use them against your rivals to try to
win the race; Top Ride, where you play short race
challenges at a different camera position, with two
different kinds of Air Ride machines, and also with
different items; and City Trial, where you have to
improve your Air Ride machine (Top Speed, Spin, HP, et
cetera...)in a specific time limit (between 3-7 minutes
), and challenge your rivals at the Stadium, with
competitions like High Jump (make the highest jump with
your Air Ride machine), Destruction Derby (defeat your rivals
as many times as you can), or VS King Dedede (defeat
King Dedede as fast as you can).
Kirby Air Ride hides lots of
surprises, secrets, and extras. The Checklist of each mode
shows all the tasks we must to do in the game. There's
exactly 360 tasks in total, and depending what task we make,
we unlock extra stuff, like playable characters, Air Ride
machines, Sound Test's songs, et cetera...
This game can be good for only
one player, but it can become totally fun if you play with
one, two, or three more players. You can also play in LAN,
linking up to 8 players!
