This pad with a circle
(perfect size for Kirby!) is where Kirby will start the
course. Before moving on, you can examine the course from
this spot (and any spot for that matter) on the map, and
plan accordingly.
Arrow Pad
When Kirby rolls over this
pad, it will direct him in the direction the arrow is
pointing.
Warp
Pad
When Kirby
rolls over this pad, it will warp him to another part of the
course! Where does he go? Where the other warp pad on the
course is naturally.
Edge
These outline
the courses on the edges and are extremely useful to not
only help Kirby angle and bounce around, but to keep from
falling off the course.
Water
While it seems
harmless, Kirby doesn't float over water - he sinks. Without
an ability that can help him, water can throw Kirby off
track.
Water Pad
These useful
pads, can be rolled over to drain water or if you want to
for some reason, fill it back up!
Rotating Tile
These tiles
aren't just normal course tiles, they move and if Kirby is
on one, so will he. Can be helpful, but can also send Kirby
in the wrong direction.
Rotating Tile Switch
These
convenient pads will turn rotating tiles on/off when Kirby
rolls over them.
Sticky Pads
These pads are
one of the worst obstacles in the game, because the moment
Kirby rolls over one, he becomes stuck. The only way to get
off without special abilities to help, is shooting Kirby
into the air and off of the pad.
Grass Tile
While the
grass is a nice bit of scenery, it can be frustrating to
roll over, since Kirby will roll in the direction of the
arrows on the grass.
Air
Vent
These fun
vents shoot out bursts of air, that will send Kirby
temporarily flying up into the air should he roll over one -
and give him an extra boost.
Trampoline
These springy
things Kirby can roll over, can send him flying and bouncing
onto platforms and hard to reach areas. If used wrong they
can create a big distraction.
Spike Pit
This nasty pit
of spikes can take away Kirby's tomatoes if he rolls over or
into one!
Conveyor Belt
If Kirby rolls
onto this belt, he'll go wherever it takes him. Don't try to
get off - once Kirby is on he's on until the ride is over,
so sit back and take a break.
Rocket Pad
If Kirby rolls
over this flashy pad, he'll rocket at a high speed in the
direction the arrows are pointing.
Goal
While it's not
a bad obstacle, it most definitely is the most important
part of the course. When Kirby makes it into hole, he'll get
to advance!
