From the bickering you guys probably saw two news posts ago, I feel we should give a lot more details on what the 'ell happened here. This is only in my perspective, so there's probably gonna be some bias and false assumptions, especially since I'm one of the newer staff (only been here since Squeak Squad was announced). Please bear that in mind. I actually haven't checked with all of the staff to see if I was okay to post this, but whelp, here goes.

KRR apparently has a fairly long history with the staff having an odd split somewhere in the crew. I believe this is why some staff members kind of vanish from the site. I've heard Kindar is pretty sick of it, and it makes it difficult for her to visit sometimes. She's also pretty busy with real life stuff, so I don't know how true that is though. At any rate, Bimblesnaff and Ometon are on "one side" while what you call "new staff" is on the other. Basically a split between the Front Page and Forums.

Anyways, KRR was falling apart little by little around the time the site was about to lose its hosting at gamespy. The people to pick it up from there? Bimblesnaff and Ometon. They set up Passport, little fixes all over the site, organized the gallery, made the front page showcase, picked mailbag up, etc. Just tons of things. They're straight up amazing for dealing with that much.

Then we get a pretty long time of only mailbag and gallery activity. Brawl's been out for years, Epic Yarn's been announced, we also get offered a link with Wikirby, but none of it gets touched. Forum staff start to want to get front page ftp access so we could update a few pages. I think Snaff Bros. declined that idea, and we never really got word back from Bagel/Kindar about it. Other issues included their attitudes towards basically everyone, which was often them being silly, but sometimes was something we felt could really hurt someone.

This escalated over the months, and basically drove Ometon away by the time we got our access. This is when he removed the controls for the front page showcase, and then connects to the recent incident where he got rid of passport in general.

I was able to look at what was left while it was still around, and Passport was pretty durn nifty. The code was really well organized, and was built so admins were able to manage things very easily. I wouldn't know nearly as much php as I do now if I didn't get to see this. He's way above me as a web programmer (well duh, I suppose), and I certainly respect him a lot more for it. Not that I think I can get along with him now that this happened.

So is it our fault? I'd say yes. We're very aware we're gonna get some hate for it (heck, we already are). But on the other hand, it still is true things were stagnating little by little. I'd be really grateful if you guys could save your judgement on us for a while longer.
