The mayor of Pupu Village, Len
lives just outside town with his wife of 40 years Hana, and their 3
grandkids. Len just loves sheep, and has a large flock of them
and a shepherd who also lives on his property. (Unfortunately the
poor things are always getting eaten!) While Len is the mayor, he
doesn't have a lot to say about what goes on in town thanks to Dedede,
but the Cappies respect him anyway. He owns the only car in town.
(Aside from Dedede's.)
Japanese Name:
ハナ Hana
English Name: Hana
Japanese Voice Actress:Chiro
Kanzaki
English Voice Actress: ???
Len's wife, Hana is sweet and soft spoken
for the most part, unless her husband does something
stupid like seem to forget their wedding anniversary.
She likes to keep things tidy, though she also likes it
when she can have someone else do the work and get a
break! She
spends a lot of her time chatting with the other women in
town.
Her name is Japanese for flower.
Japanese Name:
ボルン署長 Chief Borun/Born
English Name: Chief Bookem
He's the only police officer and there
isn't much for him to do, but he doesn't let that
discourage him. He lives in his house/police station
with his wife Sato.
He once claimed to have been in the army, but it turned
out to be a story to impress the kids. He's a brave
enough guy- maybe a bit trigger happy- but he leaves most of the peacekeeping to
Kirby.
Japanese Name: サト
Sato
English Name: Buttercup
Japanese Voice Actress:
Madoka Akita
English Voice Actress: ???
Borun's wife Sato loves her husband
because he tries his hardest, and doesn't care if he was
never in the army or anything. She's a nice older
lady, and very concerned with keeping their house looking
nice- so it didn't help at all when her husband kept
bringing all sorts of junk to their house from the lost
and found! Thankfully they had Clean Kirby to sort things
out.
Japanese Name:キュリオ氏
Mr. Curio
English Name: Prof. Curio
Curio runs an antique shop/museum where he
displays his artifacts of ancient Dreamland and Cappy
civilization. (The place is almost constantly being
trashed so he spends a lot of time piecing it all back
together.) Unlocking the past is his hobby, and he
has the honor of being one of the more intelligent Cappies.
He'd do nearly anything to get funding for his research
though...
His name comes from the Latin root meaning
'inquisitiveness.'
Japanese Name: メーベル
Maberu
English Name: Mabel
Japanese Voice Actress:
Yuko Mizutani
English Voice Actress: ?
Mabel is the town fortune
teller and Cappies will go to her to try and have their future
predicted (though Dedede is probably her best customer.) In truth she
doesn't have an ounce of psychic power- she's just a good listener- and
thanks to what Samo tells her she helps Cappies with their
problems. Mabel is one of the Cappies who most criticizes Dedede,
but because of his belief in her power she tries to influence him to
actually help the town sometimes.
Samo runs the local bar where he sells
drinks and hears the villager's problems, which he then
tells Mabel about. He was one of the few who knew she
wasn't a true psychic, not that he minded. They both
care about each other, and make an adorable couple- though
Samo tends to get a bit sappy.
Japanese Name: タゴ
Tago
English Name: Tuggle
Japanese Voice Actor:Mizuki
Saitoh
English Voice Actor: ???
He runs the grocery store, one of
the few places in town to get a steady flow of business.
He sometimes teams up with Gangu, and like other Cappies
will let Kirby eat his leftover food!
Japanese Name: ガング
Gangu
English Name: Gengu
Japanese Voice Actor:Mizuki
Saitoh
English Voice Actor: ???
Gangu runs the town's toy store, serving
the many, many Cappy children.
'Gangu' is Japanese for toy.
Japanese Name:
カワサキ Kawasaki
English Name: Kawasaki
Everyone's favorite inept chef, Kawasaki
runs the only restaurant in town- which is the only reason
he gets any business. He studied under the famous Chef Shiitake,
but he just never got it. All his dishes are either
bland or terrible, but he keeps trying, hoping to
eventually impress even his teacher. While
Kawasaki's cooking may suck, Kirby just loves it...
He makes great spicy curry though! XD
For some reason, the sign outside his shop
in the original reads 'Kisawaka'- his name backwards!
Gus may look and sound like a rough guy in
the dub, but originally he's actually rather soft spoken,
nice guy. He's sort of a 'cool older brother' type!
He runs the town gas station. Since only two people
have cars, it doesn't seem like he'd get much business...
unless it's him who fixes King Dedede's car every time
it's destroyed!
When he was younger, he was part of a
motorcycle gang. He isn't proud of that fact, though he
still has his motorcycle...
Japanese Name: モソ
Moso
English Name: Melman
Japanese Voice Actor:Nobuo
Tobita
English Voice Actor: ?
Moso is probably the oldest Cappy in
town, and is also the only mailman. His memory's
still pretty good, since he knows where to find just about
anyone to give them a letter!
What was he like when he was younger? A
mystery...
Japanese Name: イロー
Iroo
English Name: Spikehead
Japanese Voice Actress:Chiro
Kanzaki
English Voice ???
One of the trio of Tuff's friends.
Iroo is the pushiest of the three and the most outspoken.
He has a big crush on Honey.
Japanese Name: ホッヘ Hohhe
English Name: Iroo (Makes no sense, eh?)
Japanese Voice Actress: Makiko
Ohmoto
English Voice Actor: ???
Hohhe is a pretty average kid. Not
much to say.
Japanese Name:
ハニー Honey
English Name: Honey
Japanese Voice Actress:
Madoka Akita
English Voice Actress: ?
Honey is the youngest and nicest of the
three Cappy kids Tuff hangs around with. She pretty
much follows whatever the other two do, and is especially
clingy with Iroo sometimes.
Japanese Name: ヤブイ
Yabui
English Name: Yabui
Japanese Voice Actor:
Sekine Kazunori
English Voice Actor: ???
He's the only doctor in town and one of
the few non-Cappies. He runs a small, low tech
clinic, but doesn't get many bad cases aside from colds,
toothaches, and the occasional case of sleeping sickness.
His name is a pun of a Japanese
term, 'yabuisha', that means a doctor with no medical expertise... In
other words, a quack!
Japanese Name: ヤブイ
Doron
English Name: Doron
Japanese Voice Actor: None
English Voice Actor: None
Doron keeps Chief Borun in business! He's
the main trouble maker in town, (aside from Dedede) but it's usually petty
things like shoplifting. He practically lives in the cell
at the police station, but he can always get out no
problem! He's definitely a kleptomaniac. He
got his biggest role in 'The Ring Story of Parm and Memu',
but of course that was never shown here.
His name is a pun on 'Dorobo', the
Japanese word for thief.
Japanese Name: ビブリ
Biburi
English Name: Bibli
Japanese Voice Actor:
???
English Voice Actor: ???
One of the later introduced characters, Bibli runs the
village's book store. He was first introduced when
the book 'Pappy Pottey and the Fool's Stone' was popular
with the villagers.
