011 - Court Chef Kawasaki / The Big Taste Test (Fake
version) 034 - Ultimate Iron Man * Cook Oosaka / Recipe for
Disaster
Cook Oosaka is a skilled chef, famous across Popstar and the author of numerous
cookbooks. He also teaches his craft to other young
chefs, including Cook Kawasaki- but even the most skilled
chef in the world wasn't able to teach him to cook right!
Oosaka is very stern, especially with
Kawasaki, but he does try to help him now and then.
(He figures Kawasaki's cooking is so bad, the only way it
can be good is if he cheats!)
The first time he appeared he was a fake,
and in fact the demon Popon in disguise who was going to
try eating Kirby!

019 - Knuckle Joe Arrives /
Kirby's Battle with the Son 040 - Demon Hunter * Knuckle Joe / Monster
Management 065 - Knuckle Joe Escapes! / Masher 2.0
Knuckle
Joe first came to Popstar seeking revenge. He said
his father had been killed by a powerful Star Warrior, and
when Dedede told him it was Kirby, Joe stopped at nothing
to find him.
But when he did, he was confronted by Meta Knight who
told him the truth- that his father was a Star Warrior who
fought along side him, and that Meta Knight himself had
been forced to kill him when Joe's father was turned into
a demon by Nightmare.
Joe is violent, angry and impulsive kid at the best of
times. It's a good thing he's (usually) on Kirby's
side! He's also quite cunning, even managing to
trick Nightmare's company into hiring him so he could have
a chance to destroy their strongest demon, Masher.
Following that he became a Demon Hunter, traveling the
universe to fight Nightmare's creations.
Joe claims to be older than he looks, and his power
reflects it. Only perhaps Kirby is strong enough to
match him, and they make an excellent team in
battle. Meta Knight gave Joe his father's locket
when they first met, and it was found later to contain a
set of instructions for a power magnifier, which Joe used
to destroy the rebuilt Powered Masher.

Kirby's Battle with the Son (Flashback) 065 - Knuckle Joe Escapes! / Masher 2.0 (Dream)
Joe's
father, or 'Jecra' (a popular fan made name, not
official!) was Meta
Knight's friend and fellow Star Warrior during the war
against Nightmare. He was a powerful fighter, and
inspired many other soldiers to increase their strength.
Unfortunately, one night after they'd fallen asleep
they were ambushed by Nightmare's demons, and Jecra was
captured. Meta Knight resigned himself to his death,
but was elated when Jecra came back- but his hopes were
crushed when he found that Nightmare had turned Jecra into
a demon.
Meta Knight had no choice but to fight and kill his
friend. But in the end, Jecra's love for his son
prevented him from completely surrendering to
Nightmare. His last action was to entrust Meta
Knight with the locket he always carried, which had a
picture of his infant son and the hidden chip inside.

021 - Princess
Rona's Holiday / Princess in Dis-Dress
The
princess of Planet Pipi, Rona fooled everyone when she
visited Popstar, disguising herself as her guard and going
by the name Vee. Rona hated the dull life she had to lead
as a princess, and the fact she was soon to become Queen
made it all the worse.
Rona is quite the opposite of what a princess should
act. She strong willed and independent, and though the
life doesn't suit her she knows it's her responsibility to
serve her people.
Tiff fell for Vee's dashing image and escorted her
around Dreamland. When Rona saved Kirby from a
rampaging sheep, her helmet fell off and revealed who she
really was. Everyone was quite surprised, but it
didn't change their opinion of her.
Through all of this, Dedede was working on his plan to
marry who he thought was the real Princess Rona- but 'Vee'
stopped him and challenged him to a duel. During it
of course, Dedede called the demon Susshi, but Rona and
Kirby made short work of it. In the end everyone
found out Vee was actually Rona, and she returned to her
home planet.

quite a bit boring.

Dakonyo English Name: Sgt. Kit Cosmos
022 - Decisive
Battle on the Lone Island * The Old Soldier Never Dies /
Island of the Lost Warrior
098 - Takeoff!
Battleship Halberd!
One
of the last remaining Star Warriors, Dakonyo had been
stranded on a deserted island on Popstar for years before Kirby,
Tiff, Tuff, Lololo and Lalala got stranded there by
Dedede!
Unfortunately, he hadn't realized the war had been over
for years, and thought they were from Nightmare's army at
first! When he realized otherwise he had them start
training, and wouldn't listen when they tried to explain
things to him at first. Not even finding that Meta
Knight
Dakonyo is a soldier through and through.
Fighting was his life and made it hard for him to accept
that his side had lost. He's a gruff old timer, the
type who likes to talk about the 'good old days' and such,
and as a Star Warrior he still devotes his life to
protecting others.
Japanese Name: ベニカゲ
Benikage (Crimson Shadow) English Name: Ninja Kid?
A
ninja school flunkie, Benikage showed up in town trying to
retrieve his failing report card- which everyone though
was an ancient ninja scroll!
Though he's determined, Benikage's ninjutsu skills are
about on par with Kawasaki's cooking. He's a sweet
kid and he tries his best, but it may just be a lost
cause.
However, his stubbornness almost got him killed when he
challenged the traitor Yamikage. Thankfully Kirby
was there to help, and Benikage left to try and improve
his skills! Maybe we'll see him again someday.

Who
would have thought Escargon's mother was such a sweet
person? While he definitely got his looks from her,
his personality is another story. He loves his
mother dearly though, and wanted only to make her proud-
unfortunately this ended up with him fibbing a little and
telling her that he was King of Dreamland!
She didn't mind when she found out the truth of course-
she was proud of her son no matter what.

once they realized their mistake- and then went and
disposed of the trash by dropping it into the atmosphere!

Episodes:
038 - Read Along! The Wondrous Million
Seller / A Novel Idea
Author of the wildly popular 'Pappy Pottey
and the Fool's Stone', Rowlin isn't the kind of person who
writes just for the money! Much like her real-life
counterpart, she wanted to share her stories with everyone
else in hopes of inspiring them as well. Tiff is a big fan
of her and even wrote her a letter.
Dedede
invited Rowling to read her book at his castle, but it
turned out to be an imposter- the demon Broom King in
disguise! Thankfully the real Rowlin showed up to sort
everything out.
Japanese Name:
アモン Amon English Name: The Bad Sheep
Japanese
Voice Actor:Nobuo
Tobita English Voice Actor: ???
Episodes:
040: Treason of the
Sheep/Sheepwrecked
Amon is a sheep that didn't want to follow
the flock. After a traumatizing event when he was a child
where Dedede decided he had a taste for lamb, Amon escaped
and left Dreamland. He wandered for years and came to the
conclusion he wasn't just a lowly sheep- but a fierce
wolf. (And also, somehow, gained the ability to speak and
turn into a horned beast!) He returned to Dreamland to
incite the other sheep to revolt against their captors,
but that didn't quite work out as they were all still too
sheep-like.
The name Amon is from Egyptian mythology.
Amon was a god who sometimes was represented with the head
of a ram.
Japanese Name: Tourists English Name: Tourists
Episodes:
048 - Pupupuland
Sight-seeing Tour / Tourist Trap
One of Dedede's less successful (are any
of them?) money-making schemes was to turn Dreamland into
a tourist resort. Cappytown found itself infested with
strange obnoxiously garbed people who messed everything
up, took pictures of everything and shouted things in a
foreign language. (They're not supposed to represent
Americans, really!) But they decided Dreamland was a bore
so thankfully we won't be seeing them again!
Japanese Name: キハーノ Kihaano English Name: Sir Gallant
Japanese Voice Actor:Toshi
Shimada English Voice Actor: ???
Episode:
038 - Over-the-top
Knight! Kihaano / One Crazy Knight
Kihaano is a strange person. Based on the
character Don Quixote from an old Spanish novel, Kihaano
erroneously believes that he's a brave, chivalrous knight
who must defend the universe from evil. In truth, he's just
a crazy old man who reads too many comic books!
Kihaano crash landed on Popstar and
immediately caused quite a fuss, including attacking anyone
who came near, and mistaking Mabel for a 'Princess Raia' who
he claimed to have saved once.
Dedede called up a windmill demon called
Kazeguruu, who of course beat the confused knight despite his best
efforts and Kihaano finally realized he'd been living in nothing more
than a fantasy. But just when it seemed like he had nothing
left to live for, Mabel scolded him and told him he should
always follow his dreams, and Kihaano left Popstar to fight
evil (or try to) once more.
Japanese Name: シリカ
Silica/Shirika English Name: Sirica
Japanese Voice Actor:
Tomoe Hanba

Episode:
060 - Sacred Sword!
Galaxia / Crusade for the Blade
Silica could almost be considered a female
version of Joe. Her temper is just as bad, as well as
having the same penchant for using violence to solve
problems and generally causing mayhem.
Her
weapon, which appears to have been manufactured by Holy
Nightmare Co, has several settings including a rocket
launcher, flame thrower, machine gun, blade, and grappling
hook!
She appeared in Dreamland with her
mind set on one thing- reclaiming the sacred sword Galaxia
from Meta Knight- and she wasn't going to let anyone stand
in her way. Once she discovered the truth about her mother
and Galaxia she left Popstar, returning later to help the
group battle Nightmare.

Episode:
060 - Sacred Sword!
Galaxia / Crusade for the Blade
Garlude was one of the many Star Warriors
who fought alongside Meta Knight, and perhaps the only
female in the group too.
She and Meta Knight were sent on a very
important mission- to get Galaxia back from Nightmare's
demon, Kirisakin. Garlude managed to grab the sword, but
was killed by Kirisakin in the process.
Silica at first had believed that Meta Knight had
taken the sword and left
her mother to die there- but in truth he had fought
against Kirisakin to try and save her.

ペンギ Pengi English Name: Pengi
Japanese

Tobita (Boss Pengi) English Voice Actor: Mike Pollack (Boss Pengi)
Appears in Episode:
066- The Wandering Pengi / The Chill Factor
The Pengi tribe lived peacefully on their
artic ice flows, until one day disaster struck. The sky
turned red, and huge pieces cracked away, separating many
of them from the others.
They became known as the
Wandering Pengi, floating around the world in their iceberg, trying to
find a new home. Unfortunately the one they pick is Dreamland! They
appear the same day that the town is mysteriously covered in snow. They
seem friendly at first, but soon everyone finds out that the Pengi have
been using a massive fan to create the artificial winter. They wanted
to take Dreamland for themselves, blaming the townspeople for what
happened to their old home.
Only one Pengi can speak our language- the
one with the eyebrows, Boss Pengi. The rest just say 'Gii!'
They aren't bad, they're just trying to find a place to
live.
Japanese Name: Parent Whale and
Child Whale English Name: Parent Whale and Child Whale
Appears in Episode:
071- Glued! Whale Watching
/ A Whale of a Tale
When a baby whale appeared in Dreamland's
harbor, everyone was amazed. Dedede of course capitalized
on this, making a boat to go whale watching. And of course
it turned out he really wanted to go whaling!
When the boat is swallowed by the whale,
everyone finds that the poor thing's stomach is full of
trash that people have been dumping in the bay. They help
clean it out, but of course Dedede takes the chance to
cause trouble- turning the whale into his own personal
submarine!
Japanese Name: ザーツインアッツ The Twin Nuts English Name: Twin Sisters from the South Seas
The Twin Nuts lived a peaceful existence
on a tropical island, singing to keep the Mosugaabaa
caterpillar content, until one day dark clouds appeared
and they were both captured by Holy Nightmare Co. Dedede
ordered them up, and Mosugaabaa came to rescue them.
The Twin Nuts are of course based on the
tiny twin sisters in the Mothra movie. But why are they
called the Twin Nuts, you ask? Well, the actresses in that
movie were also a very popular singing group in Japan
called 'The Peanuts'!
The also appear later in the show on the
cover of a magazine. Maybe their singing has made them
famous on Popstar too?
Japanese Name:
モスガーバーMosugaabaa English Name: Mosugaabaa
Mosugaabaa loves nothing more than to eat,
and to hear the Twin Nuts sing. When they're taken away he
swims across the ocean to find them again. At Dedede's
castle he goes through a metamorphosis into his winged
form, and begins attacking everyone with blasts of wing
and choking dust from his wings. But the Twin Nut's song
calms him down again, and they all return home to their
island.
In addition to obviously being a parody of
the famous Mothra, Mosugaabaa is actually more properly
translated to 'Mothgerbur', which is related to 'Mosubaagaa'
or 'Moss Burger', a popular fast food place in Japan.
Japanese Name:
ロボ エスカルゴン Robo Escargon English Name: Escar-droid
Japanese

Tatsuta English Voice Actor: Ted Lewis
Appears in Episode:
078-
Takeoff! Robo*Escargon! / Right-Hand Robot
Look familiar? That's because Escargon modeled
this 'bot after himself of course! He was sick of Dedede
overworking him, so he thought giving him a mechanical assistant
would be just perfect!
Well, not quite. Dedede even managed to
overwork Escargon's robotic version and it needed to be
rebuilt several times. The biggest problem was that it
would do anything it was told- including attack Kirby!
When Escargon gets a special part from
Holy Nightmare Co. to try and make his robot have
feelings- but it turns out to have some extra functions he
didn't expect... Robo Escargon has a few other forms, but
they're going to be covered in the Holy Nightmare section!
Japanese Name:
ボンカス Bonkers English Name: Bonkers
Japanese
Voice Actor:Nobuo
Tobita English Voice Actor: ???
Appears in
Episode:
079- Bad Bonkers! / Goin' Bonkers
Bonkers lived in the jungles of Popstar
until he was captured and forced to perform at a circus.
He lost hope until one night he saw one of the clowns
watching a certain TV show- which happened to be Kirby!
Bonkers escaped and went to find him.
At first the people of the village were
frightened of him (no thanks to his habit of accidentally
whacking people with his mallet) but they found he was
actually very polite, and just wanted to find Kirby- so
Kirby could train him to be a Star Warrior too.
Kirby wasn't too sure on this of course,
and Dedede did his best to mess things up- including
having Bonkers turned into a demon by Holy Nightmare Co.
Things turned out okay, of course, and Bonkers left
Dreamland to train on his own.

Japanese Name:
コックナゴヤ Cook Nagoya English Name: Chef Nagoya
Japanese Voice Actor: Tsuboi Norio English Voice Actor: ???
Cook Nagoya appeared in Dreamland to the
delight of Kawasaki- as they were students together in
cooking school. Their happy reunion is cut short as Nagoya
realizes that Kawasaki's cooking skills are still sorely
lacking. Dedede decides to have the two face each other in
a cooking contest- and the winner gets to keep Kawasaki's
restaurant.
After Escargon sabotages Kawasaki's
efforts (and a demon beast attacks) Nagoya realizes he was
always trying to make Kawasaki cook the way Nagoya wanted
him to, instead of his own thing, so they make up.
(In Japan, Nagoya is voiced by a very
famous radio personality!)

Steppenwolf is a legend among bikers, as
we learned when Gus revealed he had been part of a

that being a biker isn't about breaking laws and being a
vandal- it's about freedom. He hasn't been seen in years,
but he and the mailman Cappy Moso do look awfully similar!
