I
must face the truth now. My attempts at destroying Kirby are
repeatedly proving to me that I'm not working hard enough.
Well, the Halberd II took 3 years, and that didn't work.
Heavy Lobster II took 2, and that didn't work. Well, ever
since the dawn of time, the Dream Gems and the Star Rod have
been waiting to join together to form the mightiest of
weapons, the Rainbow Blade. That better be enough time.
Meta-Knight floated there, in outer space for some
time. The power of the Rainbow Blade supplied him with a
forcefield that gave him enough oxygen to survive. Time was
passing quickly inside the forcefield, though. Hours passed
within minutes. Meta-Knight was beginning to lose hope that
Kirby would ever arrive. I
have been waiting for this moment all my life. That stupid
puffball better show up.
But
little did he know, that, thousands of miles away, Kirby was
well aware of Meta-Knight. He was busy looking for the star
rod, and only now did Kirby realize that Meta-Knight had it.
Kirby took a gigantic gasp of air, and flew up to the sacred
battleground. Excellent. Once
he gets close enough, I'll strike. Must wait for the perfect
timing to hit Kirby. Almost...almost...
"Sli-pop!"
The combined sound of tearing flesh and a balloon popping
echoed throughout the universe. Inhabitants from all around
the galaxy suddenly knew that their entire fate rested in
the "hands" of a tiny, pink, hero. Perfect! Now
Meta-Knight has the upper hand! He slashed again,
and again. The overwhelming power of the Rainbow Blade had
Kirby stuck in a corner. But, leave it to Kirby to come up
with a way out.
The hero of
Dreamland jumped in the air a
over Meta-Knight in one swift motion, then proceeded to suck
up the evil that had poisoned Dreamland for so
long. Unfortunately, the power of the Rainbow Blade was too
strong. The metallic warrior did not budge. Instead, he
turned around a hit Kirby again, leaving yet another scar.
I will win! Yes, Kirby will be
no more!
Meta-Knight backed away for a second to oversee his
work. Kirby had four scars across his face, and two on his
back. He was coughing and wheezing horribly, but refused to
give up. The brave pink soul dived at Meta-Knight in a final
attempt, but just got another scar across his eye. He
has the heart of a warrior, but the flesh of a weakling. In
my training, I was told that the heart would ultimately
conquer. Does this mean I will lose? No. It can't. But I
still have a aching feeling inside, a feeling of guilt. My
master told me that eventually this feeling will gradually
consume me, until I will give up the fight. Ugh... I must do
what is right.
Meta-Knight
threw the Rainbow Blade back toward Popstar and let it drift
away. Kirby gave him a puzzled look. "I must make this a
fair fight, or else I will lose internally," he said, and
then pulled two swords from his back, and handed one to
Kirby, "I will still win though." It's amazing how
fast that feeling of guilt can leave one's soul. But, no
matter, I must focus to defeat my foes. Kirby and
Meta-Knight both hit their swords together, and made an
unbelievably loud "Clang!" This was even louder than the
sound of the Rainbow Blade, for it was the sound of hope.
All around the universe, citizens cheered on their small
hero, and even though Kirby could not hear them, he still
knew that they believed strongly in his victory.
Time to fight.
