Animal Friend ExamplesTo start you off on the right foot, I might as well give some examples of what I'm talking about, why not? So, here's some that I whipped up into a fluffy batter before pouring into greased pans and putting in the oven at 350 degrees for twenty minutes. Lloyd the Gryphon In the land of dreams, why couldn't the mythical be real? This hybrid bridges the two realms of sky and land. Unfortunately, he lacks much mastery in either. Lloyd is a tall, egg-shaped beast. Its top half is ruffled mane of reddish feathers while its lower part is smooth and orange. He has two pointy ears turned back and a face of a beak and two beady eyes. A pair of talons hang at his chest and green shoes cover his feet. A pair of wings adorn his back. Lloyd carries his partner against his stomach, clutching their head with is talons. He takes care of the moving while his co-pilot mans the cannons, so to speak, sucking and spitting enemies. The bird-beast handles sluggishly on the ground. Even in a sprint, his pace is laxxed. His jumps are short in two ways, height and lasting. However, he can boost himself when airborne endlessly, keeping himself afloat. It is in this way that he flies. However, no matter how much he boosts, he can't get through the toughest of winds. While his ascent is fast, his flight path is horrid, bobbing up and down since he must repeatively flap his wings to stay afloat. Once he stops, he drops like a brick. Luckily, if he happens to land on any unsuspecting foe, they'll be smashed to pieces under his weight. When paired with Burning, Lloyd tosses forward a red hot puffball. When the fiery friend makes contact, either with the ground or a foe, they explode into a blazing burst and tumble back to the gryphon. Zoe the Bee This buzzing buddy joins Kirby on his quest, but he doesn't ride her. She just tags along, flying nearby to help keep baddies off. Zoe is a yellow oval with a black strip around her middle. She has a pair of fluttering wings and beady eyes. She hangs out nearby her partner, usually flying just overhead. She doesn't hold a static position and wobbles around a bit. The bee does not affect movement or suction in any way, neither enhancing it nor hindering. What she does provide is mimic for everything her buddy does. When Kirby inhales, she flutters her wings to add height to the area of suction. If he slides along the ground, she dashes forward with her stinger, clearing out the row just above the ground. If he were to blaze forward in a Burning fireball, she would do the same. Having double the fire power isn't all it's cracked up to be. While she increases the scope of attack, she also increases the number of targets foes have. While buzzing about, she still takes damage as normal, which can quickly drain the vitality bar if things aren't under good watch. As a way of keeping her out of danger, she can be inhaled like anything else and spit out later, spiralling foward with her stinger stabbing away. Just make sure not to swallow her. Try that, and she'll make the point clear! Spunt the Dino This sleepy 'ceratops doesn't seem too worried about saving the day. He doesn't even seem to mind the several threats around him or the fact that he was kidnapped. He just wants to catch some Z's. Spunt is a wide, yellow mound of friend. He has a blue stripe running down his back and across the edge of his face plate. He has three horns on his face, one on his nose and another above each eye, which rarely ever open more than a squint. His for legs are stout and short, tipped with blue nails. The partner paired with the docile dinosaur gets to ride on his back. From here, they take a comfortable seat behind his protective ridge. Spunt does most the work, although he needs directions on where to go. This saves him from having to fully wake up. Spunt moves at a lumbering pace. His stride doesn't have much reach, and neither does his jump. To get up places, this friend can inflate! However, he doesn't puff up like a regular puffball. He continuously floats up and won't drop until he pops out the air, which comes out as a whiz rather than a bullet. The dino doesn't inhale strongly, unless he's snoring, so he just takes bites out of whatever is in his reach. The short range chomp gobbles up whatever is in front of him. Spunt carries a special surprise for his passenger. When he ducks, since he cannot flatten down that much, he enters defense mode. Similar to ducking while equipped with Parasol, the front of Spunt can ward off shots and some attacks. When empowered with Needle, the triceratops' horns double in size. They stay out as long as the button is pressed. While this doesn't seem like much, he can still move about as per normal while armed with the spikes but can't do certain actions like turn around, duck, or inflate. Got the hang of it? It's not hard, right? Well, now you can submit a creature of your own to share with the rest of the world. Er, at least the percentage that comes to this site. |
