Smash Brothers II Uchuu Keibitai and HyperZone |
With Squeak Squad out for a while now, and no news about HAL's activity, it has become appearent that we will not be in an activity frenzy of any sort for the next while. I must ask everyone keep a good eye on Game News Sites for anything relating to Kirby.
... Or, am I wrong? The Super Smash Brothers Brawl Website is going to be up soon. ... That's what it says. Keep in mind, everything is in Japan Time for them, so it could be any time of the day for us. It is finally going to open. Will there be any new information?
Just to jog our memories, we know of the following characters: Mario, Pikachu, Link, Kirby, Fox, Meta Knight, Snake, two versions of Samus, Pit, and Wario. ... Did I miss anyone? We are also aware of Yoshi having a role, since a video showed a Yoshi's Island stage. The same could be said for some Fire Emblem Character - but I'm not sure what one.
From this, we might even expect a release date. We know are dear Kirby and that guy with the battleship are in, but will our prayers about the penguin with the hammer also be answered? Is there anyone else you anticipate seeing? You would love to see a good deal of MOTHER3 in it, am I right? Am I right?
I must ask when the website finally does open up, that someone yells "Smash" very loudly to alert the rest of us about it.
... Where was I... Oh yes. While in the boredom of not really having anything Multimedia related, I came up with something to do, I looked up Kirby's Music Composers. I found that some of them have done music for other games before they began working on Kirby. So, I thought "wouldn't it be nice if we could hear some of it, in order to see if their styles have changed, or to see if it is any similar?" And so, this starts up a small project about finding music that the composers we know of have also done.
Today, we are starting with Jun Ishikawa. Jun did two games before going on to make Kirby's Dreamland. Those two games are Uchuu Keibitai and HyperZone. The both of them are scrolling shooters. I have ripped their music and put it in our sounds section under "related music". You can read more about this project here.
On that note. Disky-kun seems to be reworking the forums. The forums are now under the directory "/forums2/". As a result, certain links around KRR might be broken. I imagine once he is done all the moving and reworking, he'll rename it to "/forums/" again. Until then, please be weary.

The SSBB site says \"STARTING TODAY\", but I can\'t go in. Also, \"HyperZone\" has the same name as the last level in KDL3, \"Hyper Zone.\" One of the stages in that game was called \"Ripple Field\" as well. Just some fun facts. |

I noticed that The web page said "STARTING TODAY!" But there's no link at all. What's going on? I spent a whole school day thinking what would happen (My school cursed us by blocking all video game related websites) and I come to a stinking sign that says "STARTING TODAY!" |

Smash Bros website has awesome Melee Menu 1 remix for usage in Brawl. Yet it has not been placed in the sound tracks page? I can only assume you're waiting for a FULL mp3 version. Oh, and while on the subject of the muisc and sound section.. Wait, isn't that supposed to be music and sound section? Yet I did not typo.. Have I seen this error before? Oh, look, the pic at the Sound and Music section is flawed! |

And while i'm talking about the Music and Sound.. Kirby's Dreamland 2. I know the missing titles, except for 35_36. 21_36 is the music when you're game over, and get to choose between continue or ending. 24_36 is what you would call 'Level 4'. The secondary music of the ice world. 36_36 is the ending music you'd get if you didn't have all 7 rainbow parts, but beat Triple D nevertheless. |

The site has launched, and it's day two since it has. The next stuff today: Mario and Link's character profiles. I personally liked what it had before, because I got to listen to the new music! Anyway, I'm sure they'll get to Kirby, Meta Knight, and the Halberd stage eventually (we might even get to hear the stage music!). |

I can't wait for Brawl! =D The website is pretty good IMO for someone (Sakurai) who is actually taking the time to work on the website even though he's busy with the game also. ;) |

Day 3: a new item introduced! The "Gooey Bomb", which is not related to the Gooey we all know. It latches on to stuff (even character) and explodes after a while. character who have the bomb stuck to them can run by other character and stick it onto them! Well, I'm just glad we're finding out something new! |

DAy 4: Pit's character profile added. I think this Pit artwork is slightly different compared to the original artwork... |

About Zero Suit Samus- I'm guessing that she'll be able to remove and put back on her Power Suit during the battle, similar to Zelda's Transform move. Pit's little icon thing is a bow and arrow. If they add Sonic, wonder what icon he'll have... Probably a ring. Or a Chaos Emerald. If they put in Dedede he'll probably have the little bunny insignia. |

I agree with Speedy on the Menu 1 remix, but I'm not sure it'll be in Brawl. I hope it will though. And I also agree with Aki-Chan on the Samus Transorm thing. As for DeDeDe's insignia, I thought it was two fingers in a glove or something doing a peace sign, or something like that. And SmashKirby202, thank you for making all our lives easier by naming the updates. |

Today the Cracker Launcher is released. It's fun and all, but take a look at the snapshot of Kirby shooting... Exactly who IS that standing above him? That person definitely isn't human, and to add to that, they don't look a thing like Kirby, Pikachu, or Mety. At a guess, I'm saying it's Fox in a blue costume... but wait, they aren't using costumes in these photos... Wonder who it is. New character, perhaps? Anybody recognize them? |
Posted by Aki-Chan on 12:12pm May 31st, 2007 |
Ooh! Ooh! I know! Me! Me! It's Mario, caught in explosion from the Cracker Launcher. What can I say? I'm a big fan of the Super Smash Bros. series, and I have Melee, so I'd recognize things like that explosion anywhere. |
Posted by Tailskirby6 on 2:20pm May 31st, 2007 |
Yes, it is Mario. It took me a minute, but I can recognize his gloved hand anywhere. |

Today we see a new stage! Isle Delphino! It's features include moving parts like the Mute City stage in Melee, and bringing back memories for all you Sunshine fans. (I still never finished that game...) |

Missed a lot of days, but a new stage has been revealed on the site, Delfino Plaza from the Mario game, Super Mario Sunshine. And yeah, that Cracker Launcher reminds me a lot of that shooting item from Kirby Air Ride. |
