Oh look, a Mailbag! |
For some reason, I'm the one doing the update for the Mailbag. Don't worry though, good ol' ArrEmmDee is still the head of the operation!
Anyway... yeah. Here's Mailbag #37!

Smash Brothers II Uchuu Keibitai and HyperZone |
With Squeak Squad out for a while now, and no news about HAL's activity, it has become appearent that we will not be in an activity frenzy of any sort for the next while. I must ask everyone keep a good eye on Game News Sites for anything relating to Kirby.
... Or, am I wrong? The Super Smash Brothers Brawl Website is going to be up soon. ... That's what it says. Keep in mind, everything is in Japan Time for them, so it could be any time of the day for us. It is finally going to open. Will there be any new information?
Just to jog our memories, we know of the following characters: Mario, Pikachu, Link, Kirby, Fox, Meta Knight, Snake, two versions of Samus, Pit, and Wario. ... Did I miss anyone? We are also aware of Yoshi having a role, since a video showed a Yoshi's Island stage. The same could be said for some Fire Emblem Character - but I'm not sure what one.
From this, we might even expect a release date. We know are dear Kirby and that guy with the battleship are in, but will our prayers about the penguin with the hammer also be answered? Is there anyone else you anticipate seeing? You would love to see a good deal of MOTHER3 in it, am I right? Am I right?
I must ask when the website finally does open up, that someone yells "Smash" very loudly to alert the rest of us about it.
... Where was I... Oh yes. While in the boredom of not really having anything Multimedia related, I came up with something to do, I looked up Kirby's Music Composers. I found that some of them have done music for other games before they began working on Kirby. So, I thought "wouldn't it be nice if we could hear some of it, in order to see if their styles have changed, or to see if it is any similar?" And so, this starts up a small project about finding music that the composers we know of have also done.
Today, we are starting with Jun Ishikawa. Jun did two games before going on to make Kirby's Dreamland. Those two games are Uchuu Keibitai and HyperZone. The both of them are scrolling shooters. I have ripped their music and put it in our sounds section under "related music". You can read more about this project here.
On that note. Disky-kun seems to be reworking the forums. The forums are now under the directory "/forums2/". As a result, certain links around KRR might be broken. I imagine once he is done all the moving and reworking, he'll rename it to "/forums/" again. Until then, please be weary.

Long time no see |
I AM FREE OF THE TYRANNY OF FINALS. Can't say I got much done during em of course, as far as the site goes. But I have a sub, yaaaay!
Go watch episode 57, 'Those Who Laugh at Pie, Cry in Pie!' I have episodes 58-61 in the works, so expect to see those soon! (Knock on wood...) I'm also going to do a better 'how to use BitTorrent' guide soon...
Don't forget that you can submit stuff to the Kirbypedia! Just check the How to contribute page and you can help make it more awesome. I've put up some user submitted info already, and you can see what's changed daily in Recent Changes. (It's updated a lot so we aren't going to mention it every time on the main page here.)
