It only slightly pains me to report that recent news brought to my attention suggests that the E3 2005 pictures first suggesting a Gamecube title, later tentatively turned to Wii, has probably been trashed. Even Nintendo officials, as reported by Go Nintendo, say that there is no longer anything in development.
"There are no plans right now for a Kirby game on Wii but there
are plenty of Kirby fans out there, so in the meantime look out for
Kirby in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will be released in
2008."
Quite honestly, after three years this comes as little surprise to any of us here. The video we were supplied with showed definite potential, but it seems that was just never to be. It is curious to wonder what exactly lead to the fall of the game, especially in the eyes of HAL Labs.
Now all we know for certain is that the tentative Kirby Ultra Star is being made for DS, with a minimal chance of having any new content at all, and another strange thought as to the motivation behind it. However, if I may quote something a bit old but still valid; it is another curious thought to wonder if HAL is really behind that too.
After a rather extended wait, we finally get to see Kirby's special moves updated on the official Brawl website. Of course, what else would one expect to see than Kirby's tried and true Inhale/Copy?
Also, as a side note, it's pretty obvious that Dedede Kirby is using Dedede's own Inhale, so we now know all of King Dedede's special moves as well.
Hello all. I just wanted to be the first of the KRR staff to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas. The day itself is only five days away, and amazingly I am still eternally busy! The most of us here are still in the school, meaning we'll be treated to a holiday vacation soon. Mine starts only tomorrow and yet it feels so distant with all the work that school is shoving down my throat, but I'm managing. Too much busywork and not enough actual learning - what is wrong with the education system these days?
Over the break, I'll finally be able to bring updates to the multimedia area in earnest like before. But for now, I'll just spread around a little timely cheer, to help lighten the news I had to break the other day.
You may find the full version to that song here, with much love sent to Seanstar, who made it.
A further note to all Oekaki and Fanart gallery artists that starting on Saturday and Sunday, all new Christmas Themed Kirby fanart will get instant link-to's in the Fan Showcase up until Boxing Day.
The legendary Air Ride Machine Dragoon was seen in yesterday's Brawl update as a trophy, but today we've found out that it is also a item useable in battle!
Collect the three pieces of Dragoon, and plow into your opponents with immense force!
