It appears HAL Labs was present at something called a
World Hobby Tokyo Fair yesterday (1.30.04) and let fans
have a go at playing Kirby Star: Labyrinth of the Mirror!
On Hal's official site (http://www.hallab.co.jp),
the staff members keep a diary of their work at HAL. The
last two entries have been regarding the new Kirby game,
but as you know they are in Japanese and hard for me to
translate. ^_^ Using babel fish, I was able to basically
understand that they are keeping this project pretty
quiet, and will not start releasing more info until
February (woo hoo, that's pretty close guys!).
At the fair, the game appeared to be extremely popular as
fans stood in line the moment it opened for 60-70 minutes
to have a chance to try it out on one of the four test
playing stands. The fans appeared to be having such a good
time and so absorbed in the game, many had to
be asked to let others have a turn to get them off! HAL was
pleased and delighted that the reactions of fans have been so
huge and positive in such a short time.
There will also be more test
stands set up at the World Hobby Fairs being held in Japan's
Nagoya and Fukukoa. So, if you are some extremely lucky soul or
can cough up money and figure out where this place is, you could
go play the game for yourself. ^_^ Until then, just drool at
these screens of the lucky players.
I'm sorry my updating has been a little... not happening. Tough time what with my grandfather just passing away and finals just happened. I will be updating sometime soon. Thanks, kindy, for that update. Anyway, one last e-mail change. If you already sent me your fic, then I have it. If you send a new one, send it to rrfanfics@hushmail.com. If you have a question or comment for me, please send it to masterzora@hushmail.com.
On another note, it is now exactly 11 months until my 16th birthday! Yay! That is all.
Huzzah!
I've added a buncha info to the new Kirby game section,
including confirmed abilities and... other stuff! XD Go lookie.
Sorry for the delay with the Caption Contest, but the
second one's over, and the third has begun! Go read the
captions for #3, and submit funny stuff for the new one! (Oh,
and if anyone can get any amusing game pics for me to use, I'd
be happy to. =P)
Gyaah, sorry
I haven't been around, I've got over 600 Avalanche sprites to
sort though and I'll be putting each sheet up as soon as it's
finished! For now, I've added the name registration alphabet
to the Avalance sprites list. It's college's fault... mostly...
Nice to see Carrie again! ^_^ My update for today goes sum-zing like this:
The
Miscellaneous Art Gallery is updated with
more pics of Masahiro Sakurai, and the president of HAL.
A gallery has been added for Kirby's
Dreamland 2 - this is just screenshots at the moment.
There is a big handful of new fan thoughts by SiR6, discussing Sword,
Beam, Bomb, Ball, Cutter, and Crash!
Jared,
the almighty, has given us a mighty guide for
Tilt 'n' Tumble's Burst-a-Balloon
mini-game... and I mean this guide is MIGHTY. It's so long, you cannot walk away
from this game without being a pro after reading it.
Speaking
of Tilt 'n' Tumble, I've 97% finished the game
guide. The only thing missing is the instruction booklet, maps and all that
kinda stuff. Go take a peek.
New fan fics! I got a few complaints that
Master Zora's e-mail isn't working (???) so I stole his fan fic updates
instead. Nintendo Ike gives us two more
parts in his Meta Knight Saga (still leaving us hanging on a cliff I might
add!), and new comer Banzai Kirby makes
his presence with 4 debut fan fics! 2 of which contain 5+ episode/chapters
or more!
Ah,finally! Though I had to mess with it a bit, I finally got a working FTP! Horray! Let's see..
I added a few new items to the merchandise section, including a guide, coloring book, and a awesome memory card.
But that's not much,is it? Don't worry, I've got TONS [and I do mean TONS] of plushies and toys to update with, but I just don't have the time right this moment. So many.. thumbnails! I'm working alongside Kindar-chan to redo the merchandise section,as well. Keep an eye out!
Woa Rainbow Resort finally hit 1,000,000 visitors!
But your probably more
interested in the 40+ screenshots and artwork I have collected all over the net
of Kirby Star: The
Great Labyrinth Mirror! These are so sweet too, and upon seeing them I've
noticed the Angel Ability isn't the only new ability, there is also a
torpedo/bazooka type one too! Here's one screen just for eye candy:
And here's a thumbnail for you to click and see the art work of this new
ability, but beware - it's a huge picture!
So once again the stupid form is having
technical difficulties, but I think Aqua is fixing
something up better. ^_^ So while you are waiting to
submit your witty captions, I bring a new cameo to the
cameos section unlike any other - Super Puyo. Did you know
Kirby's Avalanche is a blatant rip off of this game?
(Pretty much anyway) hehe. You
read about the game,
then view a page I've set up with
screen by screen differences
showing exactly why Kirby's Avalanche and Super Puyo are
so similar.
Super thanks goes to Luc who surprised
me today with an e-mail containing a movie file of the
Super Star commercial!
So, wipe that drool off and go watch it! The best part -
it's only like 1.29 megs zipped! Not bad at all!
BTW - I
am NOT updating anymore fan art ^_^;;; Sorry, but if you
haven't seen the new fan art gallery, please take a look
at it. No need to keep sending me fan art anymore ^_^
Well, I was collecting links, and
finally I decided to put them. I have two new Kirby links
for the section! Of course, I will show you them with a
little description ^_^
Kirby's Dream World - This site has lots of Kirby
Fan Stuff, like pics, games, etc..
Kirby
Planet - Another site with Fan Stuff, but looks so
cute.
I changed an URL address of a Kirby site, Downtown
Dreamland. Click
here to access to this site using the new link.
I also decided to put some Non-Kirby sites for the
section. I will put one on my next update. Don't forget
to send me your Kirby (or Non-Kirby) site ^_^
The
Kirby 64 enemy page is done. This took much more time
than I thought, I had to edit each picture and even then
they aren't the cool 3D type pics. Oh well, better than
nothing! ^_^
The stupid form on the captions was not
working. Surprised? Ha. So I fixed it. That means all your
captions that you may have submitted are not received. Yay
go me! XD So, I've fixed the form just right now - please go
resubmit your captions to Ivyna and yell at me for any
inconvenience. What's new? XD
I'm back with... a fun new idea!
Presenting, my Kirby Caption Contest! (No, I won't call it a
'Kirby Kaption Kontest' because that's silly and then the
initials would be... yeah.)
I've been browsing the
internet on the prowl for new stuff, and I found the
coolest things ever!
KIRBY TV COMMERCIALS! I've snagged them and put
them on here for everyone. They are huge, but so worth
watching. If you choose just one to watch, watch
Kirby's Adventure!!!! Or the Japanese Nightmare in
Dreamland one with a Kirby disco ball and karaoke
singers!
Scramble-O-Pic is coming to an end, I will no longer be
updating it. It's been real fun, but it is taking up too
much time, especially with school poking it's mean head
around the corner. It may come back, but it won't be until
Summer or so. Until then, try the final scramblies - 10
pictures for you to figure out! Some easy, some hard, one is
extremely hard - so it's a great way to boost your score.
With a total of 15 stars in the hall of fame to win, anyone
could pull up to first place! Go try it out. ^_^ It ends
Saturday (less than week!) so go to it!
Oh yea, and last week's puzzle was just to chaotic to
update everyone's scores. So it didn't count for anyone. The
answer was Kirby Super Star, Kirby against Heart of Nova.
I hate to push Ivyna's awesome update down
so soon. XD Thanks to Evil Wizard Kirby, Kirby has been
sighted in the 1992 SNES RPG Arcana! Check out the
cameos section.
Thanks to KingKirby87 for the scoop that Kirby's Air Ride
is in the Top 30 (more like #30! heh)
Best Selling Games of 2003 in Japan!
Also thanks to KirbyManiac for taking a crack and
translating the screenshot of Kirby and the stone looking
Whispy Woods - it seems to translate roughly to King Golem.
Thanks so much! ^_^
Super thanks to Lipobenny for our new
award!
It's cute! ^_^
Fan thoughts is updated, once more. I have to stress in
the future that I will be extremely picky about what I
choose to go in the section as responses. Some of the
responses are typically sounding like forum conversation. So
don't be insulted if your response was put up. XD
Two things today. First off, we noticed a
lot of questions about the Kirby anime given to the mailbag
peoples, problem is most of em don't know much about it.
So... Ask me! =D Yep, if you have any questions regarding
the anime, please feel free to email me, and maybe once a
week like the mailbag I'll post questions and answers. ^_^
Fun eh?
And the other thing is... this!
Freaky eh? For those of you who haven't seen it, this is a
screenshot from a much later Kirby episode, 'Geek animation!
The Star that is Fumu' Fumu is Tiff's Japanese name of
course. Think of it as a sequel to the episode where Dedede
tries making his own cartoon, accept in this case he hires
some creepy 'otaku' animators who end up making a show about
Tiff... except as ya can see, it's nothing but fanservice!
I have good news: the
Super Smash Bros. Melee section is open with some
sections completed and other under construction. I have
helped too much to Kindar developing this guide, and you can
enjoy it right now ^_^
Don't forget to look the section for new updates! ^_^
I am officially resigning from Kirby's
Rainbow Resort. Quite honestly, I'm more of a "Making
Fangames" person rather than a "Maintaining Fangames" one. I
was hoping for Kindar to tell you all, but apparently she
hasn't. >.> Anyway, the fangames and fanmovies positions are
now readily available. Hopefully anyone who asks for said
positions will do a lot better job than I did. Anyway, I am
also leaving the forums as well, because after so long, I've
realized that I have very little interest in Kirby nowadays.
If you care to see me anymore, I might be on the Chat, but I
rarely talk, for I also go to other channels, such as #rotfw
on irc.aXpi.net. I doubt any of you care, but it can't hurt
to tell you where I'm going.
Oh, by the way, don't mind the condition the Fangames page
is in. Kindar made the page for the new layout, not me.
It is time for my monthly update. Half my
stuff got deleted when I had to do a disk clean-up just to
make sure my PC was good on running memory. So, I have seven
Kirby Air Ride MP3s in the
Sounds Section, and one new
Sheet Music... Sorry... I did what I can. ^_^
Yay, I have
begun the new year so well. I received two new Kirby links, and
of course, I show you them right now ^_^
The first one is
Kirby's
Kitchen, a site that offers basic info about our favourite
cute pink blob. Thanks to the webmaster of the site to send me
it to my mailbox ^_^
The last one is
Kirby's Paradaise, another excellent Kirby site. Thanks to
our friend Metawarp to send me this link. This site was one of
his affilates of his own site, Downtown Dreamland, and he has
sent it to me to add it to our Kirby sites list.
I bring you a very good sized update today. Enjoy!
Kirby Star: Great Labyrinth of the
Mirror - The Game Guide page has gone up now! While it's
just a simple review (very very simple) and only has 6
screenshots it's a very exciting beginning!
Miscellaneous Picture
Gallery - This new gallery features (old for you Japanese
site surfers) HAL Kirby 64 sketches! They are ultra cool,
including production pictures. I particularly adore the one
I've posted above.... test tubes contains Kirby characters and
is that... 0^2? Fan thoughts are brewing so feel free to
comment. ^_^
Kirby Nightmare In
Dreamland - New sounds page! It now has 40 MP3s straight
from the game! If this isn't the full soundtrack, it's 99.9%
close.
Fan thoughts have been updated! Lots of new thoughts, and grumbles with
spice and everything nice. Oh! And Team_Star, I don't know how but I
overwrote your though... can you please send it to me again? XD Sorry.
Bad news: I received a real large file in my e-mail, which
sent my mailbox 99123123% over it's limit. The end result = mail was not
being received. Even worse news: It was the scramble-o-pic e-mail. Okay,
yell and whine at me but I can't do anything about it. So this week's is
going to be extended until next week. In other words: Scramble-O-Pic is not
updated this week.
