Ask Guru Gobbo #149Coming soon from Ask the Gurus... Session #150, equally as unimpressive as this one. Just tellin' the truth. - October 6th, 2009 De' Daimyo sends his greetings of Happy Anniversaries to Gurus and all of KRR; tonikaku..., insightful questions abound this session. 1) I believe I have deciphered the meaning of the anonymous message adorning the heading of session #144. It doesn't mean, "could there be a second anime because of the third anime", it really means, "could there be a second anime because of the 3-D anime". Now, I would like to direct your attention to this video. 2) So, what do you think of this new mini-episode? I personally believe that it's not so bad; the 3D animation is top-notch and has the same smooth/clean feel as the recent KSSU commercials. Also, KABUKI KIRBY!~<3 ...Sorry, I guess one could say, that idiots enjoy things that pander to them ^_^* 3) Do you see King Dedede as a strong and capable character, or more of a fat, lazy slob? He's been portrayed as both muscular (able to easily tote around a hammer half his size, and leap high into the air) and slothful (forcing other to do his work for him; also gourmet-racing, which could lean either way...); I'd prefer the former, but what do you say? 4) In Smash Bros. Brawl, Dedede's hammer has an abnormally long handle-- like ridiculously long compared to any he's ever wielded. Through my observation of some of his attack-kata, I'd say that the programmers designed him to fight as if wielding some sort of bo-staff, which would explain the length. In your informed opinion, what would you say is the case? 5) How do Propellers choose whom and when to attack? It seems all throughout Dreamland 2 and 3 I encounter these demons of the sky (or flying-bladders, whaha); they often catch me off-guard because I never know just when they are going to zip towards me! Is there some sort of pattern? 6) The Rainbow-Drops of KDL2: what is their practical purpose for Dreamland? I would compare them to the pieces of the Starrod or the famed Sparkling Stars, but they don't seem to add-up to help the country have pleasant dreams, help gather food, or anything other than the sole purpose of repelling Darkmatter. As their only use in this very specific situation, could Darkmatter have actually plagued Popstar before this game? 7) Do you really work as a bio-engineer of natural-fuels alternative to petroleum? That's cool, you rule! - Dedede-Daimyo 0) Hey, there's no way you could possibly know if anything good will be happening this round. I call your bluff! 1) I never thought they meant "third" and gave no indication to such, but, yeah, probably. See, you're providing something that tells me what you are talking about. That guy didn't even write in barely acceptable English. Anyhoo, this seems to just be a "special" that they made. No telling if they plan on making more, but it'd seem pretty stupid to pick up on a series that they ended years ago with the same setting and villains who were vanquished. If this were a new Kirby bit that was wholly different from the previous series, kinda like the many Sonic the Hedgehog shows, I'd be more inclined to see the possibility of more. 2) Oh, jeez, he ate a torch. I'm not saying anything else on this. He ate a torch. Again. 3) He's technically both. Sure, he's lazy and glutton, but the bird deserves his props. He's not faced inside a roped off ring because he's a pushover. The king can lay the smackdown when needed, he just prefers not to. Strong, powerful, and an overall force to be reckoned with, he's king for a reason. 4) Probably. A short, smashy hammer would be of little merit in the game since it would have so few attack possibilities. Much like how it was mechanized for greatness, they probably spiced it up with some added length. That, or they just wanted it to be a two handed weapon 'cuz it'd look ridiculous otherwise. I dunno. I've never played Brawl. I can't really form an in depth opinion about something that needs to be seen personally. 5) Propeller is only mysterious since you are crossing their game appearances. Okay, they do have a third in Crystal Shards, but that's another bag of worms. Chiefly, it's important to note that in Dream Land 2, they are "pet patrol". If you have an animal in tote, they fly into a frenzy and hunt you down. One hit KO's your furred, feathered, or finned friend. Ono! In the next title, they are far less spectacular. They simply hatch from eggs with some randomly assigned "emotion", which only seems to change the speed they nonthreatening move towards the player. 6) The Rainbow Drops are not connected to Dark Matter in any way. They are your standard "relics of power hidden across the land so that only they only be sought and united for the land's salvation in a time of dire need" thing. Really, that's always seen in movies and such. They never know who that threat might be or when it will come, but there always seems to be those pieces of power. Their functional use is purely to serve as a weapon. They don't give dreams or grant wishes. They simply make a prismatic blade. 7) To be more accurate, I'm a displaced bioengineer who's working on biofuel feedstock screening. It's far less impressive, less the robots and poisonous acids. Yep, plain an' boring. Out of all the Squeak Squad-only abilities (Metal, Animal, Bubble, Ghost, and Magic), which ones would you like to see in new Kirby games? - Kirbichu Metal is just a glorified Stone, which I think was a better ability. Bubble only really worked when the stomach storage system, which is unknown to be reappearing in the future. Magic is a far stretch on what I'd call a useful or unique ability. It had merit as a roulette and only seemed to be resurrected to give it some credience. Animal, too, seemed not too impressive. It's usage, outside of digging, seemed close to sword with its slashing. No big deal there. No, I think the best to return would be Ghost. Being able to be the enemy rather than just use their power is a real interesting feat. Of course, I'd prefer something more like what Droppy or T.A.C. does and actually be the foe. Some type of amalgam to Copy and Ghost would be keen. Hi! I was playing kirby amazing mirror sub-games when I was bored. I found out that if a sub-game is completed perfectly, a better winning sound plays than if a sub-game is completed, but not perfectly. (EX: playing speed-eaters, if you just win eventually, the normal win sound plays. But if you are able to completely fill your tummy after round 2 rounds(fastest possible way to win), a better win sound plays.) The only game that did not play the better win sound is kirby's wave ride. No matter how fast my time was, the normal win sound always played. Is it even possible to get the better win sound in this game? - Jen I would assume not. In a flat out X out of N number's game, a perfect game is obtainable. Something like a race is less concrete. There's no "best" you can do as the final time is always moving up, allegedly. Also, I didn't even know the games made a sound. I never really bothered playing them, even. I mean, it's a mini-game outside of the game. At least the one's in Adventure were integrated as bonus chances and the few in the Super Stars were, well, it was nothing but short games. I have 99% in kirby and the amazing mirror, but i have EVERY thing in the collection room! how do i get 100%? - MarxSoul The collection room isn't every treasure. There's drinks, tomatoes, and 1-ups found in the boxes as well. I can guarantee that one of those squares on your map is not blinking. Find it, get it, and all should be good. I'm guessin'. In Revenge of the King (KSSU), why did King DDD upgrade the Shotzos, an already invincible enemy, and not Airship Kaboola? Is King DDD really that stupid? Because I thought he was only stupid in the anime... - Sh'irby 1) Shotzo was upgraded into Blatzy, too, back in Dream Land 1, ya know. Sure, it can't be made any stronger, but it's rate of fire can be improved. And whaddaya mean "Kaboola wasn't upgraded"? Have you even bothered comparing the Revenge to the classic blimp? It got decked out with new renovations, or do you think the colossal bullets were a standard feature before? Like I've always said, "Kabula" is more like a Kaboola's Revenge than anything; however, since they didn't have classic style in the game, there wasn't any need for the surname. 2) He isn't. He's only that stupid in the animated series. In the real series (hrhr), granted, he's still not that bright. He's dumb enough to think that he can succeed against even after being defeated how many times? I would cite the breaking of the Star Rod as an example, but that's more of dastardly clever and indirect more than it is lack witted. In eneme elementary when the cappy teachers started treating the children bad, why didn't the other cappys who weren't teachers yet do anything? also, that x-ray that mr.chip was looking at in that last school episode... was dedede born without a brain the reason his head was hollow? - Sharnay 1) Most likely due to the Cappies being gullible, helpless lack-wits who wouldn't know what to do in the situation anywise. These are people who haven't overthrown the atrocious "king" Dedede and dine at Kawasaki's, remember. Smart, they ain't. Probably why they needed that school so badly. 2) Actually, it's not uncommon for the X-ray of a skull to have a black center. It's a bit more stark of a change when in a cartoon, but there's normally more of a gradient. There's more bone thickness towards the edges than there is in the center. Besides, an X-ray wouldn't show brain matter. It shows bones. An MRI or other type of scan would be used for soft tissue. How come there aren't any other Kabus in the Anime? - Steve Valor 'Cuz they made Kabu into a solitary, giant tiki thing rather than a small, crazy enemy type. Does this even warrant asking, let alone answering? They changed what Kabu was. Having his ugly mug all over Dream Land would kinda cheapen his whole mystical appeal an' all. Hi Bimblesnaff! I was just wondering one thing that's been on the tip of my tongue ever since I heard it. Over at the site's remix archive is a song called "Battle of Fever & Chui". I have no idea what song(s) it's a remix of. Heck, I'm not even sure it its a remix of a Kirby song considering there's also a remix of Ai no uta (a Pikmin song) there too, haha. So, do you have any idea what song(s) it's supposed to be? Thanks. =) - EmptyStar While I couldn't actually find the song (due to the fan remix section being a complete mess of organization), but judging from the title of the song and its proximities, yeah. It's probably a remix. What does "fever" and "chui" have to do with Kirby, after all? 1.) What's the white mass in the middle of Aqua Star? 2.) For that matter, where do Aqua Star levels take place, considering its entire surface is water? 3.) Where can I download anime raws? 4.) How did Kirby come into his copy ability between KDL and KA? Did he learn it in the intervening time, or did he always have it and chose not to use it? 5.) Which style do you prefer, the original concept of using enemies as ammunition, or the copy abilities seen from Kirby's Adventure onward? Which do you feel is more in keeping with the overall Kirby concept? - Spongebath Bill 1) From the outside and scientific reasoning, it would be taken that the center is either a compact ball of ice (solid water condensed from the gravitational center of the world) or is a creamy nougat filling. Of course- 2) As we know from Pop Star, what you see is not what you get. The outer view of the worlds never actually resembles what is seen when upon their surfaces. 3) Much like where to get illegal game ROMs, I don't care and this is none of my business to be peddling out. The closest I can suggest is YouTube, but I know that's no where near to the quality or what you were seeking. 4) Well, you see, Kirby came face to face with the god of Pop Star, Sakurai, so said, "If thou wishes to have a sequal, thou must gain a new gimmick!" And, with that holy proclamation, Kirby spiced up his old repetoire. Really, stuff like this has no and can't have any real explanation when it's purely game gimmick. 5) I guess repetitively asserting the same opinion ad nauseum for over a year doesn't stick in people's heads.
