Ask Guru Gobbo #138Nothing like distress to fill up a question cache like lightning! Should I say something here? I think we all know what's going on with ol' Rainbow Resort. Of course, by not saying "what's going on", it'll just leave confusion behind for those combing back through this section at a later date, which, really, is just more incentive for me to not say what what is. I'm such a jerk! - June 24th, 2009
1.) Have you forgotten about the mailbag again? Bad Bogg! 2.) I went through some of the recent sessions and I fond some pretty stupid stuff that I'll answer in a way so,yeah. 2.25)Kirazy #3: REALLY?!?! it's Nightmare's fault... it came before the show! 2.5)Rainbow: you geta shiny board...and a song.HAPPY? 2.75)Tripp crazy #2: they did? when?NOWHERE! 3.) if you want you can take a break from guru job,as soon as I get my own 'mail address... 4.)If you run out of ideas for mailbaggers ,call on the blue menace(me). 5.) all of the good questions HAVE been asked! Adieu, - Airride_Master 1) No, I haven't forgotten about it. It's just been sitting there. There's been a bit of a snag with Dedede-Daimyo's disappearance, reappearance, and sherbet. That frozen treat is more like a frozen threat and will soon destroy us all! But, the Mailbag isn't a monarchy, and other 2) The joy. I am abuzz with anticipation. Wait, no, that's churning of my stomach. Better fetch a bucket, kiddies, unless you want bacon and bagel on your floor. 2.25) Nightmare? I can only assume you mean Nightmare in Dream Land, which came out in October of '02. The Kirby animated series came out a full year prior, October '01. It's all in plain English, ya goon, right when you enter the Animé Section. Oh! I'm sorry. You like to be ign'ant and turn your back to when the series actually came out, in Japan, where Kirby is from. Boy, if you screwed up so utterly badly, I'm aghast with anticipation to all the other winning insights you have to share. 2.50) Wow, rather than going for completely wrong, you switched it up with completely boring, pointless, and bland commentary. Thanks for wasting a minute of my life I'll never get back. This is oh-so much fun for us all. 2.75) That's about Meta Knightmare Ultra. If read in context, which means the questioner assumes a state of mind linked from their previously asked question, or thought of question since they don't like to be too helpful, then the statement makes sense. Sadly, I have been ingrained with the thought process of thinking like and pre-guessing the failures of others and didn't miss a beat with his musings. And, um, I always mentioned Meta Knightmare Ultra in that response. Yeeeaaah... 3) If you're offering, then, for the sake of all Kirby-dom, I must never quit ever for all time! 4) There seems to a theme developing. For A.I.R.'s sake, I hope you are his for-some-reason impostor. That'd spare much dignity and explain many heinous behaviors. 5) And yet the masses are deterred from pitching the refuse. 1.You may have seen galactic knight, and as you would see he has feathered wings. In your opinion, do you think meta-knight will grow feathers? 2.Did meta-knight use magic of some sort to transform his cape/wings? 3. If meta knight went to college, what would he be good at? My guesses are history and mehcanics. 4.Who would win out of kirby and sonic... in a BREAKDANCE DUEL? 5. Can meta-knight inhale anymore? 6.Do you think kirby would do well at the olympic games? 7.Can kirby taste? In fact, does kirby need to taste? - Kirkby 1) May have seen folks, may. What type of half-rate Kirby expert to you take me for, especially when you've been around and participating in sessions where I've talked about Galacta Knight! Anyhoo, no. What logic is behind that? Membranous wings and feathered wings are wholly different structures. One could never morph into the other. It's not like birds have fingers with stretched skin and feathers laying on it. Pick up a biology book, kiddo. Learn something. 2) So, Meta Knight is the only character who needs "magic" to perform some type of transformation when you have the protagonist manifesting hats, weapons, and even helpers from thin air? Not to mention others spouting fire, ice, energy, or even transforming themselves into more hideous monstrosities? No, the cape is what strikes you as being out of place and needing "magic" to explain it. For serious, man, it's not a generic fantasy setting. There is no blanket, nondescript magic! It just happens 'cuz its what he does. 3) ... This is the stupid thing I think I have ever been asked. You know, stupid in its own right and not because of gross wording or wrong assumptions. It's just... just pointless. 4) Kirby has actually displayed breaking dancing ability, as you've addressed in one of your previous questions, where the blue streak has not. So, what you're basically asking is "Who is better at something: someone who has or someone who hasn't?" Thank you for wasting everyone's time with that. Stay tuned next week when I explain what one plus one is, 'cuz apparently people wouldn't be able to figure that one out either! 5) This waste has been addressed previously, twice actually. Are you searching for answers before asking? Follow the chain in reason for Meta Knight's inhaling capability. 6) Eating is not an Olympic sport, so since the puff ball is a mere 8" tall, he'd suffer greatly in all competitions. For the high and long jumps, I think the flying would get him disqualified. 7) Kirby can taste. Not wasting any more time on the matter, except for that explanation... and that one... And that one... 8) There was an 8, but, by the grace of the gods, I burned, destroyed, and made it so that it would never see the light of day again. It was another of those brain-rot "theories" that had zero basis on facts and was more just connecting points with the most stretched lines imaginable. You can thank me by never sending in such yourself. why does king dedede keep trying to destroy kirby? in both the anime and games? and how come he hasn't been the main villain for awhile? how come waddle doo cand shoot beams in the anime? - GameQube 1) King Dedede only tried to get rid of Kirby in the animated series. Kirby stole the already shaky limelight from the King as well as foiled his hair brained schemes, most of which were geared towards getting rid of Kirby. It's a self-fueling cycle. Otherwise, in the games, he's just been trying to stop the puff from stopping himself. Greedily stealing food and stars for himself is the only thing Dedede ever did wrong in the games, rightfully. He never tried to outright destroy Kirby but rather impede him from spoiling his spoils. 2) 'Cuz the animated series is not the game series. Notice how Kirby doesn't even spit stuff back out, either, or do anything else from the games outside of copy enemies' abilities. This casual statement seemed to be corrected in Session #139. What does Meta Knight look like without his mask? - Connor It's very, very rare, but there comes a time, every so often, when I get a question that hasn't been asked or answered in any fashion because, well, no one else wondered it since it was regarded as basic knowledge! Meta Knight without his mask. Yeah. Every game with Meta Knight has him get unmasked. A full spread of the imagery is dumped in the Meta Knight article, including a completely unclothed blue swordsman. Keep in mind, he's never revealed in the animated series, which is what I pray dearly this questioner was really asking about. However, one Meta Knight is identical to the other, technically. They both look the same on the outside, so why wouldn't they be identical underneath? It's not like Sword Knight and Blade Knight where the game and show versions are completely differently shaped from one another. One is a blue Kirby, the other is a blue Kirby, so, unimaginatively, both should look like a blue colored Kirby clone. Shocking! Remember me, from Christmas time (Cra-Z Diggy)? Well, on the day after Christmas, my comp died. But now I'm back, with a new & improved name! I'm XionGaTaosenai, and I will not die! But, I still don't have an account on KRR, which leads to my first question: how do you get one, do you even need one, and do they even exist? Secondly, on the storybook page, when I select to go into the "starry sky" or whatever it is, I get sent back to the "select a story" page, or whatever it is. What am I doing wrong? Thirdly, what is that thing on the aforementioned "select a story" page?!? The ting with a mouth on it's hat, or whatever it is. Fourthly... screw it. we're swithing to real numbers. I don't ever want to have to write "thirteenthly". 4) I WILL correct your errors! I will be to you as a Kirby Guru as Rick the Hamster is to Kirby. In the first session, you had stated this. While this is a joke, I want to clarify one little detail (because I'm Obsessive Compulsive): Kirby copies powers, not tempraments. Shadow may be Emo, doesn't mean Kirby will become Emo upon eating him (unless being Emo IS Shadow's power, which would make sense AND negate these 4 paragraphs). Shadow's signature move is Chaos Control, a form of temporal manipulaion, so Kirby would probably get some kind of Time ability. Of course, even if being emo is Shadow's power, you could just press SELECT and Kirby would get rid of it. Problem solved! 5) "What are friends for? friends are there to help you when you're down. Friends are there to rearrange someone's face..." I finally found it on Youtube. It was horrible and awesome at the same time. Thank you for instigating my search. 6) How can I submit things to the Mailbag? I want to bring my Intelligent Ridiculousness to where it can be REALLY appreciated. 7) Project RAINBOW is dead. But I heard it was a multi-part project. Were there at leat portions of it that saw the light of day? If so, where can these pieces (now better reffered to as "remains") be found? 8) I'm planning out dozens of fan-games to make in the future, and Dedede-Daymio's Rolly was amazing, so I might want to put it in a (well-designed, actual) Kirby fangame or two. But my favorite power, Cutter, is missing from the list of power combos. If you could contact Daimyo and discern what a Rolly/Cutter Combo would do, that would be much appreciated. 9) Could I have a history of Rainbow Resort? Nothing extensive, but I'm new here, so I might want to know some points of the site's past, especially the things that may be refrenced to by staffers, so that said refrences don't fly over my head. 10) What's you're favorite Kirby level by design? Mine has to be the third level on Shiver Star in Kirby 64 (the toy/sweets mall one, right before the factory level), followed closely by the fourth level in Shiver Star (the Factory Level) and with the very first level of Kirby's adventure coming in third.* 11) What's you're favorite Kirby level by music? I'd say mine is the first level on Rock Star (the one that, on the Kirby 64 part of the music and sounds section of this site is aptly titled "Rock Star"),with the first level in Kirby's dreamland 3 (the music that later reappeared in Kirby 64, but I like the original SNES version better) coming in second, and the first and third levels of Shiver star coming in third (in the K64 tracks on this site, it is titled "Shiver Star").* Okay, that's eleven, not thirteen. but i guess "eleventhly" is even worse than "thirteenthly", so whatever. *: Those top three favorites lists were come up with at the top of my head, and may be different if I actually thought about it for an hour or two (or even three). But I really like all of the level designs and music tracks mentioned. - XionGaTaosenai 0) And it was the best Christmas ever! I wouldn't talk like that, with the "never die" stuff, XGT. I mean, if the XM was that unforgiving to you, I'd be wary of, like, Labor Day. 1) If someone were to kindly explain to me what this account was, I'd gladly give the answer. Some sort of blanket membership with no instrinsinct functions? I've only beat this equine skeleton to dust with a floggin' staff five moons over. What account? 2) Methinks you need to have Java Script enabled. That allows Java Script to, you know, function and all. Who would think Java Script would be needed to utilize a Java Scripted feature!? 3) Mr. Hat is just a weird, dreamling oddity concocted by Storybooker. The whole dealio was inspired by the comic series Little Nemo in Slumber Land, and that was some "strange Flip inspired creation." Some things don't need to make sense. They just gotta be awesome! 4) Kirby would be unable to press select, 'cuz of the pain in his soul! 5) I ... haven't... a clue. 6) You see, on the Mailbag page, there's this thing where you enter in text and click a button. Again, this is Java Script, as it is a form. Enable that bugger in your browser. How do you even do stuff on the internet without that? 7) The most that came out of the Rainbow was "rain", being 1) this very feature, despite starting as something new, turning into something else, and then becoming something old; 2) the RSS feeds on the main page, unenthusiastic-wooo; 3) the horribly thought out Ability Reviews; and 4) supposedly regular Mailbags, which dropped the ball very often and eventually got a new staff. So, yeah, it's legacy is about Ask the Gurus return with Uncle Gobbo and nothin' else. 8) Hey, now, I wouldn't go around the place and willy-nilly use other people's intellectual property. Sure, it is already someone else's IP, but the creative ideas addressed in that particular application should at least be confirmed as alright by the Daimyo. As for why Cutter was absent, maybe he ran out of space on the page? You could just comment on that picture in the Fan Art Gallery, assuming you have an account, with that commentary. 9) There is, and always has been, a Site History inside the Site Information section. However, more ironically, just as you asked this very question, Kindar Spirit pretty much laid out all the super-beans in a gigantic news post. 10) You know, I never was the type to remember stages and levels by numeric heading. I just know them as vague descriptors, like "that snowy place in Dream Land 3". 11) Again, never really learned their numeric designations, and I definitely haven't a clue to what stages the music appears on. That's too many stages' tunes to comb through for such an irrelevant question. Why was Kirby Airide 64 canceled? I looked it up, and it was pretty good for a N64 game, - Superkirby Straight from the game page, gitty, "... the status on the game kept being delayed, changed, unannounced and then," guess what expected event came next? Yep, it got canceled. This is what you call "developmental hell", where a project is just dragged along and put through so many twists and changes that the staff loses interest, the producers lose hope, and the title piddles out. Jeez, does this sound oddly familiar? Normally, loses are just plain cut earlier in a game's development or Tilt 'n' Tumble 2 or even Kid Kirby. It may have seemed like the game was next to complete, but the basic mechanics are probably the first thing done for a game. It's all the level development additional pieces that actually make a game become a game, and what make it good. Titles like these were just cut early as it was deemed better in the long run. Others, like a certain Wii title, just keep dragging out... on, and on... 1. Are you tired of people drawing o2 o3 and marx soul? 2. Why didn't you put my tank kirby and shell kirby in the enemy emulation? Okay I know pichfork knight was horrible but i know a lot about kirby and i just got confused. I thought it was meta knight. Not the little guys like ax knight but the puffball himself. - Lolz 1) Zero Two is pretty popular, and Zero Three is an invention who really can't be said to be drawn too much as they are all completely different. The idea is about the most cliché, agreeably. Marx Soul, on the other hand, is never really seen, at least in my looking spots. In fact, I think I've seen more Marx Classic since the release of Super Star Ultra. 2) I don't remember ever seeing those submissions, but Tank was probably skipped since it, I'm guessing, involved Shotzo, who can't be inhaled and voids the basic guidelines, and Shell ... don't remember seeing. Was that the Coner one? Anyways, it was probably ruled as unsuitable to the enemy with what it did to what the enemy does. Again, all specified in the guidelines. I force people to go to that page first in the hopes that people will read what they shouldn't do. 3) It was only addressed ad nauseum and on every page of that contest that it was to be exactly that. Seriously, the main page, the guidelines, on the received page, and in a good number of the remarks for the submitted knights. It was even more-so pointed out in a specifically addressed question. Like I said there, how much more clear could it have possibly been made? Today I was playing multi player on Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland and I said Kirby or Keeby is yellow. My brother thinks he's orange, then I compared it with Kirby Squeak Squad. Is he really yellow or orange? I think he's yellow! - Kirby-4-ever Keeby is yellow. It was the color Miyamoto wanted Kirby to be rather than pink, and his very name is a phonetic combination of Kirby ("Kaabii") and Japanese for yellow ("kiiro"). I suggest your gets his eyes checked... or his Game Boy. 1) I've heard about various rumors about a certain HAL area in Kirby's Adventure, but is it true? And I recently figured out that there is a secret room where you can gain the U.F.O ability. The thing is, why did HAL even plan to do these things? (A HAL room returned in Revenge of the King!) 2) In the Whispy's Revenge battle, what's the difference between the red apples and the purple apples? (This might be a stupid and dumb question, I'm just curious, so don't call me a fishy fool or anything like that next time.) - Sir Chaos 2255 1) Ya knows, this is an information site. It holds all sorts of cataloged knowledge on all the game titles, particularly old ones. Adventure is a great example of that. And, yes, there's a very easily listed Tips and Codes page that fully details what and how the HAL room trick functions as well as several other hidden and glitched ponderies. Okay, I guess the page should be called "Secrets, Tips, and Codes", but still. Ask the Kirby Gurus is supposed to be for obscure, unknown, or buried information, not things that are openly and publicly displayed on the website found two clicks off the main page. C'mon, people! Utilize the site then utilize me. 2) You troutish jester, the difference between the red and purple apples is... I'm actually not certain off hand since I have no experience with them. The Revenge mode tosses out Poison Apples, I guess like The Wiz did, only these foul fruit cause damage if inhaled rather than a sleepy state. Basically, don't taste those wares. Repeat Response:
